Transfer Deadline Day thread

Fri Jan 31, 2014 12:12 am

So it's the 31st January, and just under 23 hours until the transfer window shuts.

Remember it closes at 11pm.

I'm sure there will be a lot of activity including City.

Certain to end the day with at least Zaha and Fabio.

Hopefully get a centre back and a striker in too :ayatollah:

TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY THREAD

Fri Jan 31, 2014 6:48 am

I will be glued to Sky Sports News all day today until 11pm to see if we complete any further signings. I'm not greedy as I think we have done really well already. However, it would be great if we could sign a couple more players who would really add to the first eleven.
Here's hoping.

The Independent are saying Fabio Quagriaella from Juventus has turned down the opportunity to come here on loan.

David Craig is at the Cardiff City stadium today for Sky and OGS is holding his press conference at 9am. Also agent is saying there is a mystery player due at Cardiff today. Very interesting.

I thought we have been playing well in our Lancashire always. (Apart from Bolton first half)
I think a cb and striker will nail it.
Although I don't think you can play whitts and medel in same team.

Pulis has long been an admirer of Joes.
Hardly surprising he is back in for him.

Let's get this sorted early on....

The transfer windows closes at 11pm.

Deals can still go through after 11pm as long as the paperwork has been received by the FA.

There is also another deadline of noon in order to sign players and allow them to play tomorrow. So we only have four hours left to confirm Zaha and Fabio.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day thread

We really need a striker. From having 5 or 6 on our books we are now down to about 3. If Campbell gets injured we are going to be in trouble. I hope that with us getting rid of Maynard, Mason, Cornelius, Odemwingie, Gestede, Etein etc that is all part of Ole's master plan and he's going to announce a 20 goal a season fox in the box.

Ole still has £20 Million + burning a hole in his back pocket, there will be more signings :laughing6:

Re: Transfer Deadline Day thread

Astori would be a REALLY good signing, he is a very good CB. Defensively he is really good, he can definitely use his feet with the ball and his defensive positioning is very good. Not really slow either. Theoretically he could have been a little bit taller and a little bit stronger, but you can't have it all. Astori would be a massive signing, just saying.

its obviously a tactic but ole said there will be no more new signings today

Re: Transfer Deadline Day thread

Sound the u-turn klaxon, we appear to have a change of heart from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

After spending most of his press conference saying there will be no more signings at the club today, he has now altered that view slightly when pushed further.

He now says: "There could be one or two before 11pm, something may happen that is too good to turn down, but for we will not be adding names and numbers for the sake of it."

To confirm, the Zaha loan deal is done

Fulham bid for Swansea's Taylor, good signing for them if they pull it off

Re: Transfer Deadline Day thread

Here's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's verdict on his latest signing Wilfried Zaha, who will make his debut at Norwich tomorrow...

"Looking at him in training, he has such great pace, power and technical ability. He goes past people and he gives us the extra bits we need - change of tempo in last third.

"At Man Utd we were top drawer but in final third, we need that little bit of extra magic.

"Zaha has been on the bench and only played a few games, so now he just wants to find himself playing with confidence and help Cardiff stay in the Premier League.

"There is no honeymoon period when you come into thick of it, we want them to perform straight away
