Solid Defence

Wed Jan 29, 2014 6:26 pm

It is fair to say that most fans will acknowledge that we have not scored enough goals so far this season but what is just as important is a having a solid defence.

Hull at the start of the season produced some good 1-0 results to earn them the 3 points.

A classis example is Crystal Palace. Prior to Pulis they were conceding goals for fun. Since his arrival and with the SAME PLAYERS he has transformed their defence into a solid unit. They have conceded just 4 goals in 6 premiership games, dug out the 1-0 wins and they have climbed up the table.

We seem to give away sloppy goals. Many of the 3 against Southampton, the 2 against Sunderland and the 2 against West Ham could have been prevented. The defence went to sleep on many of those goals.

Hopefully Fabio will bring his experience and quality and we desperately need a new centre back alongside Caulker. We need the defence to be up and running like the strike force from the Norwich game onwards. No more sloppy/ late goals. Onwards and upwards :ayatollah:
