10 Mil hit

Wed Jan 29, 2014 6:11 pm

From what Carl has reported in the sticky, City have taken a 10mil hit on cornflop. If you think about Southampton who spent 12 mil on gaston Ramirez and 15 odd on osvaldo, who both have done fucall really, it's not really to bad of a hit. The only thing that disappoints me is that the money could of been spent on a proven striker, and could be the main reason we get relegated.

Well it is because we are bottom of the league and wasted £10 million on a player we could have used for strengthening the team. Southampton can take the loss as they are in a far better position in the league

I vote Malky pays the difference.

Yes that's what I said the money could of been used on a good striker, but atleast he's off the books the wages would of crippled us if relegated.

Agree 45k a week to sit on a bench is crazy. Hopefully, City might put a clause in the transfer for either a percentage of a sell on fee or a buy back clause. You never know he might come good in the future

What you have to take into account is that to get a decent premier striker you need to spend around £20 million. Below that and it is a risk.

I make it 7.5m - 3m = 4.5m on transfer fee, 1.6m on contract according to Carl and 1.25m signing on fee. So that's £7.35m hit in total.

We will lose about £3m on Velikonja and it looks like a similar amount on Maynard. That's at least £5m wasted out of total outlay of about £10m last year.

£7.35m hit on about £35m this year could be seen as a big improvement.

Agree, but bony cost 12 odd and he's good and I bet he's not on as much as 45 k a wk. there must be more talent in the erividise like bony who would jump at a pay packet like 45k a wk. A striker should of been signed who was more developed who could handle the pressure not a kid, nevermind it's done now and he's gone :ayatollah:

Cornelius would still be here if annis had his way as he wanted malky to see the season out.

I think malky realised he had bought a load of tripe that's why he panic bought Odemwingie hoping it would cover up the cracks.
I like malky but hes not blameless and his dossier cost us millions in crap players

They could have easily gone the wrong way too... Rhodes I'd be interested in, but the other two aren't anything special for me.

I'm mean i think for the fee we gave for Corn we could have got someone who had more chance to get us goals.. Corn i'm sorry didn't look very good nor did i see potential..
