Fans treatment of Cornelius is shocking

Wed Jan 29, 2014 2:31 pm

He's a young kid with very little experience playing in the biggest league in the world against some of the best defenders in the world and because he hasn't hit the ground running people want rid of him !

He's 19 years old and living in a foreign country . The price tag he arrived with which was not his fault is obviously effecting the boy and he's struggling ( at the moment ) to adjust to life here !

We should be supporting him not ridiculing the lad . He will come good he has blatantly got the talent to succeed and become a huge player for us he just needs that first goal to take all the pressure off then I'm sure we will see a totally different player .

I actually feel sorry for the guy , at least when he comes on he has tried every time even if it hasn't quite worked out for him on the pitch he has ran his ass off . Maybe now we have some wingers he will flourish rather than have to chase long balls like he has done in most of our games he's played so far .

I can't wait to see what he could do with zaha and noone feeding him from the wings personally :ayatollah:

Very few people gave gestede a chance in the championship last year and look at him now he has decent service he's banging the goals in !

Cornelius will be a top player given time to settle :ayatollah:

He's shit as most of us with a brain cell have been saying for months, even Ole thinks so, he must be garbage for them to make a 5 mil hit and pay 70% of his wages. Do you think we actually go up to cornelius and call him shit? No! We have still cheered him but its time to go

To be fair although generally bids performances have been poor he did show quite a few skilful touches and plays up at Bolton

I really really want Cornelius to do well. I'd like nothing more, after having stood by him for a long time now.

You're right, some sections of fans have been idiots toward him, and they should know better. The problem is, in the games he's been given under OGS to prove himself, he's not scored a single goal and then Campbell has come on for him in both games to net. The kid needs to score badly, but there's simply no sign if it happening. He can't even get the ball in the net in the warm up! I swear, I don't think I've ever witnessed anything like Cornelius...his confidence is in the shitter, and anyone who watches him closely can see it's frustrating the hell out of him.

We've all seen the YouTube clips, so we all know this kid has bags of talent. We've yet to see ONE instance of it in a City shirt though, and I'm really not sure we will, either. Maybe he just needs to move on and start fresh.

Malky has to take some of the blame here though. To come out publicly and say Cornelius wasn't ready and was "for the future" probably didn't help his confidence, but then to keep throwing him I'm in the final 10 minutes to go and grab us a goal...made ZERO sense, hurt Cornelius' confidence, and made Cornelius into a scapegoat for fans who wanted someone to blame for our lack of goals.

It's not Cornelius' fault he's on the wage he is. In fact, watching the lad, I think he'd happily chop that wage in half if it meant scoring some goals. I think he genuinely wants to do well for us, I'm just not sure Lady Luck is in his side.

Except isn't there a quote somewhere from when Ole said he thought Cornelius could be a future Man Utd star? Obviously made before both joined us, but something has gone wrong somewhere with the development of this kid since we took him on.

When you earn high wages a certain level is expected. I wish him well.....maybe one game with zaha providing the feed should be his last chance before letting him move on?

People are saying he's shit !

He has made 11 appearances
Man city - sub 89mins
Accrington - cup- start played 45 mins (injured )
Man utd - sub 84 mins
Arsenal - sub 87 mins
Palace - sub 71 mins
Liverpool - sub 80 mins
Southampton - sub 45 mins
Sunderland - sub 82 mins
Newcastle -cup- start 60 mins
West ham - sub 79 mins
Bolton - cup - start 45 mins

Add all 9 of his league games up it comes to 94 mins in other words 1 whole game with injury time .
The cup games he was injured in the first one and out for 3 months , newcastle for anyone who watched it he actually played quite well just didn't get the breaks .
In all fairness he didn't have the best of games against bolton .

I can't see where people have had enough time to make an opinion of him from his actual game time .

No I'm saying he deserves time to prove he is good enough to make it at this level , if we are going to pay him off then what's another 5 months !

He's crap and doesn't even try. As for run his arse off you are kidding me. If you call that productivity then no wonder this country went to the wall financially. You must think getting out of the bed in the morning deserves a bloody promotion and pay rise if you truly believe thats effort. I grew up in a house of grit, giving everything and although you never always succeeded you bloody well tried or you got a clip around the ear. You must have grown up with a full set of silver spoons in your mouth if you think thats bloody effort. Effort does not mean success but trying is a must. He didn't even try. He just drifted around the pitch like a lost dog looking for its owner without a care in the world knowing he was getting paid for it.

Cornelius didn't have much game time because Malky knew he was shit hence he signed Odemwingie late to cover the deal. Then when Ole took over he realised he was crap hence him not being on the bench yesterday. He was just a total crap signing from start to finish yet people keep looking for excuses because of the transfer fee. Stop doing it. He's crap. I couldn't care less if Zuckerberg invested £1bn's worth of shares into him. He's still crap. If he had any quality he would have started but instead we had Fraizer, a very cheap signing ahead of him and Odemwingie, a striker who couldn't care less but still offered more than Cornelius. It says a lot really doesn't it.

Money washed down the drain that could have been spent on Rhodes, Deeney or Finnbogason. However, we spent it on a dud who was never going to be good enough and that is a fact. Every time I think about it I think 'what could have been' and it winds me up so it must make Tan irate.

Exactly, that money could of been spent on a goal machine, most European marksmen would snap your hands off for 45 sweet ones a wk

"He doesn't even try", yet he "runs his arse off".

Well done.

Again you talk total shit about how Fingobasonon is apparently Pele, when you don't have a clue. Read of any number of strikers that would do a better job for the team bottom of the league, with his game time  Akinfenwa could do a better job, I don't have a clue, but he could do.

He's younger than me and he's getting an £8m+ payoff, its believed, for doing pretty much bugger all, whilst the likes of me and thousands of other students have been slugging it away in university and thousands of others have been slugging it away in work for less and we cant criticise him?

Bugger that. He's crap! I'll criticise him as much as I like. Im sure even if he reads this forum he'll be able to comfort himself lying amongst a bed of 100 EURO notes. Some of our fans are delusional mate. If a player is crap then just be honest and up front, he's crap.

The problem in this country is its full of fairy libertarian optimists who like to see the best all the time and are not realists.

In Asia (China, Japan, etc) they'd have just said 'you are crap, you must work in factory or shop to be useful' and to be honest he probably be better off working in our club store or something anyway as he's crap on the pitch.

So when they thought you didn't try and you got a clip round the ear were you given time to make up for it and show your full potential ? I'm guessing the answer is yes so why do you think its acceptable to wright a young man off as shit when he has hardly been given a chance to show what he is capable of ?

I didn't say that. Learn to read. I said 'he runs his arse off, you kidding me' in response to the other posts. It was sarcasm. He's lazy and useless. You need to learn to understand basic English.

Sod off Willy Wanka. You're delusional and crying because Malky got sacked. Finnbogason is doing the business in a respected league yet Cornelius is useless and has never proven himself at any credible level. That is a fact. Now go play in chocolate factory you little cretin. Theres a good girl.

I'm certainly not blaming Cornelius, never have done, no footballer in their right mind is going to say no to the contract we've offered him especially a young player, the blame for this shocking deal lies at the feet of moody and malky.

I'm 41 and haven't played football in years but would have ran and chased more than he did he was f*cking rubbish be honest. Not even a glimpse that he's worth 7/8 million quid.. Not his fault mind you can blame Malky and his so called dossier for that and again for Odemwingie.
