Anybody else think Declan John was out of his depth last time, and even though this was a poor Utd team by their standards, they still won the game quite easily.

It wasn't a poor Man Utd, they had that buzz again with the signing of Mata, plus RVP returned and they had Januzaj and Rooney to return from the bench fgs. Declan was fine, Bellamy was the one giving him no help as he was everywhere bar helping Dec out. Kev and Hudson are definitely out of their depth though

declan John did excellent against valencia and Rafael. what's wrong with people mun. he was stuck on his own a lot cos bellamy couldn't hold down his position. people need a reality check cos they want to blame the lesser known players instead of so called 'stars'. i like Gary but he didn't close down quick enough for youngs goal. i love super kev but he lost young in the first place and i like caulker but it was his area where the first goal was conceded.

Boy did well. What do you want from him?

Declan played well, bellamy left him isolated and didn't really help him enough. Hudson kept getting caught out and super kev was out of his depth. Witts backs off far to much and I don't think he should play on Saturday

John played well and should be first choice left back with Fabio right back as he's right footed. Two young energetic full backs who can get up and down the pitch. They can support in attack but also get back to defend.
I cant see Fabio replacing John to be honest as Kev and Theo are caught out of position all the time and leave space in behind to be exposed. I can pin point numerous times this has happened. When Remy scored against us was one where Theo got caught out and then let him come inside and shoot. Terrible defending knowing Remy's capabilities yet he let him do that.

Im a big fan of Declan but I have to agree with this. First half he was caught out quite a bit and lacked confidence.
Second half he played better but I think he showed a weakness we cant afford for next few months.
If he plays, get him running at the teams he does that better than anything else

Thought he was great, brilliant run in the early second half that ripped past Utd defence and, had campbell been about 2ft further back, a probably goal. Looking to see him play more now, much more interesting that Taylor.

I like Declan John - Hes pacy, gets back well - a bit nervy under pressure just outside the box but pretty decent going forward.
Hes only 18 and I think hes only going to get better - I hope we stick with him because its good to have someone out there who has come through our academy and he can definatly hold his own.

He's not good enough YET. Hopefully he won't start now for the rest of the season.
Will be a fantastic player in the future though.
