Sorry, I thought he was poor today he may be one for the future but as our attacking left back I don't think he cut it today. He constantly stopped us progressing up the left by running to the half way line then stopping and passing back, Mcnaughton did the same and I believe they were a responsible for slowing up a lot of our progress up field. I saw Bellamy shout at Declan several times for not overlapping him when Bellamy pushed forward, also Campbell and even Kimbo shouted at him because he kept holding back and he was not available when we pushed forward. I am looking forward to Fabio playing in the hope that he will push forward more. The most annoying thing is that on the occasions he did push forward he actually put some super balls across, he just doesn't do it enough for my liking.

I agree, the key word being future. He's not ready yet.

I disagree about McNaughton. Thought he pushed up a lot and that one cross he did was the on a plate. I personally think Naughts is exactly the type of full back Ole loves, never stops running is great at defending and is very good going forward. Like everyone else was disappointed by his form during that bad spell he had but he is a breath of fresh air and his passing has actually improved considerably. Looks like he is now going to be retained possibly as first choice reserve left and right back and I am personally delighted for him :ayatollah:

He can become a good player...just got to sort out his crossing...the 'loop' cross is getting tiring

Yes. Amazing to see McNaughton have an excellent game and was extremely bold when we were in possession. Moved infield a lot when in the final third, pinning United defenders back. Put in a couple of good crosses too. I love the man but didn't think he was capable of this level of performance. Delighted our longest serving player has been given a a chance for CCFC in the Premier League. Definitely a good soldier to have in the trenches over the next few months. No loan moves for him now.

I thought Declan had a very encouraging game defensively. I'm very excited about this young man's future. I am also happy with him starting any games in the future. He does need to gain confidence going forward which I'm sure will happen. You just know he's capable of going past players but is holding back a little. If he ever plays DVP games again, maybe it would be a good idea to throw him back on the wing so he can remind himself of his offensive abilities. (And Kane Owen should start at DVP level anyway as he also looks a prospect).

I thought McNaughton was at fault for young's goal he should of closed him down or at least committed a foul on him earlier

With the right development John will become a very good player, good news for our national team too.
