Norwich fan in peace

Tue Jan 28, 2014 4:40 pm

Alright lads,

I was wondering whether you could suggest some good pubs for the away fans?
Would be good to know which ones to avoid also….

I can see us losing to be fair but you never know

Good luck for the rest of the season and hope the new manager effect works out for you hopefully not at the expense of us thou! 8-)

Cheers in advance

The canton cross pub I would suggest, or the sports bar above it, very welcoming there for away fans.

almost any where in center. its only around 10 mins in taxi or a train is less than 5.
it will be busy one as egg chasing is on. but most places in center will be a good shout.

Try the prince of Wales in the city centre, its right next to the main central station, away fans mix freely with home fans in there, only 2 quid a pint too. don't go into canton where another fan suggested as you won't be welcome there.

Always liked Norwich and their fans, would be sad to see you go down unless it meant us staying up :ayatollah:

The centre of Cardiff will be very welcoming as the rugby is on. However, it will be VERY busy. If you are travelling by road allow extra time as the M4 will be extra busy - allow at least an hour more than you thought. Travelling by train is Ok but will have big queues after the game so don't try to get the last train home - get to the station ASAP.

Drink in the city centre, not Canton. Trouble is unlikely, despite the reputation of our fans, but if anything will provoke it drinking in Canton might. Its only 15 minutes from the city centre to the stadium so stick to town.

Although I object to the prices charged at the stadium, I'm told that we do put on local beers and delicacies from the away team area (is that mustard sandwiches? ;) ) and have won awards for our hospitality there, so don't be afraid to get to the stadium early.

We appreciate that its a long way for you to travel so although we hope to beat you, we hope you have a good day

Give the city centre a swerve, on rugby international days the pubs put the beer prices up, Kiwis put a £1 on a pint, the Borough and the Vaults both put 60p on a pint last time Wales played in November which was the same day we played Arsenal. If I were you mate I'd head to the Westgate on the edge of town/Canton, decent pub and they don't put the beer up when there's facking rugby on.

The great western is right next to the railway station.....they do food and the prices are ok, usually a few away fans in there, and the taxi rank is outside. All pubs will be full on sat though due to the rugby, mostley chubby girls in rugby tops wearing pink hats.............dont talk to them or they may try and kiss you.......or be sick over you. :laughing6:

Drink anywhere in the city centre you'll be spoilt for choice and lots to see if you have plenty of time on your hands then get a taxi to the stadium, keep away from canton and you'll have no problems what so ever.

Look after the Great Western please. Don't be naughty like your friends from Bristol. :old:

Do away fans who behave themselves get attacked in Canton? thought them days were over.

Previous away fans rave about how they're treated at CCS with away memorabilia and old highlights shown.City centre will be rammed due to Six Nations. You could try Penarth.Pubs next to train station and five mins to Grangetown station which is near ground. That way you would miss all the valleys rugby fan travellers.

If you dont feel like mixing with eggers (pink sparkly hat wearing rugby 'fans' and I use the word fan loosely) get to the stadium early, our club go to town in keeping away fans happy, they will be playing highlights of your recent games etc etc

if you are unlucky you might see them squatting in the gutters! :o seriously though, I'll go fooking mad if they try blaming football boys if there's any aggro in town! funny though you won't see many police at our place saturday! they have a cheek at calling us hooligans, yet they cause more aggro and make our capital smell like a toilet pissing everywhere!

Norwich fans always welcome at Cardiff - one of my first matches at Ninian Park late 60s saw us lose to you bloody Canaries :(

City Centre will be very busy but there is plenty, and I mean plenty, of choice - suggest you avoid Canton as others say.

2 pubs mentioned Prince of Wales and Great Western are both Wetherspoons so big and good prices with food.

Long way to come mate - hope you enjoy the day, even when Bellamy scores the winner with 10 seconds of added time left and refuses to celebtrate...I can but dream :D

You'll have fun in the City Centre on eggchaser (rugby) day but beer prices will be hiked. Avoid Canton and Grangetown and you will be fine.

You'll be fine most places. I've been drinking in the closest pub to the ground The Ninian (or the Maeverick as its called now) and some games loads of away fans in there in colours mind so not looking for any trouble.

I'd avoid centre of town as egg chasing day and will be annoyingly packed with silly hat brigade, i don't think they will let anyone in with football tops on as well. I know my mate got turned away with his on.
