Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will grab a hat-trick today – and then sign another TWO players before Friday night’s transfer deadline.
Solskjaer will unveil three new players this morning – Manchester United pair Wilfried Zaha and Fabio Da Silva as well as Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones – but that won’t be the end of the January splurge with a defender and a forward still on the Norwegian’s hit-list.
Wigan’s Spanish central defender Ivan Ramis has been strongly linked to Cardiff and talks are still on-going.
Trinidadian targetman Jones is set to complete a swap deal with Peter Odemwingie moving in the opposite direction to the Potteries, while the arrival of Zaha will add further attacking options.
Zaha, a £15m signing from Crystal Palace last January, has been out of favour at Old Trafford under new United boss David Moyes and will complete his medical at England’s St George’s Park base at Burton today.
The England winger has made only four appearances for United, two of those being as a substitute in the Premier League.
It has been reported that Cardiff will pay a £1.5m loan fee for Zaha while the scale of Fabio’s undisclosed full transfer will depend on whether City survive in the Premier League this season.
All three deals – Zaha, Fabio and Jones – will be confirmed today and take the number of Solskjaer’s signings to six with Norwegian trio Magnus Wolff Eikrem, Mats Moller Daehli and Jo Inge Berget already signed in this transfer window.
Neither Zaha nor Fabio will be available at Old Trafford tomorrow but Jones is set to feature against a Manchester United side set to hand record £37.1m signing Juan Mata his debut.
Jones, 29, – who has been out of favour at Stoke under manager Mark Hughes and recently refused to play against Liverpool – said: “I’m really happy to go and try and help Cardiff stay in the Premier League.”
Fabio, 23, the twin brother of United right-back Rafael, joined United from Brazilian club Fluminense in 2008 and made 56 appearances for the Red Devils and spent last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers.
Cardiff were last night paired with Wigan in the fifth round of the FA Cup, the Bluebirds hosting the Championship club on the weekend of February 15-16.

Has to be a Cardiff fan on a wind up this. No sane person not even from Swansea can be this consistently stupid.

Paul, you are aw lacking double standard!
Slates Cardiff for signing players with no premiership experience/"quality" when your club has signed N'Gog & King (who?)
Slates Cardiff fans for turning on Malky/Tan/Ole, when Laudrup Out was trending on twitter last week after Swansea lost to Spurs.

That may be the case but it takes some intelligence and skill to pretend to be as thick as swansealad, and to be as deluded as the fruit chucker bloke.
