A shame if true. A position we are lacking in quality at the moment IMO.
Sun Jan 26, 2014 4:09 pm
Well considering he has been injured all month, I'm not really surprised.

Red flagged Anterior Cruciate.

DJ would have still bought him

Malky would have still signed him, offered him an extra 10k a week, then never played him.
Sun Jan 26, 2014 4:21 pm
Who next then?
I see Lescott is potentially on his way to WHU
Sun Jan 26, 2014 4:21 pm
Desperately need another first teaser in this position.

Let's hope Ole is already looking at other options, must have plenty of money left in the kitty with the bargains he's picked up

Hes showing Malky its about quality not quantity

To be honest I'm glad he's not signing, even tho he is a good defender his medical history is poor regarding injuries.
Sun Jan 26, 2014 5:33 pm
Has been out for a long time with injuries. We don't want to do a Real Madrid and sign a player anyway even when his medical I awful a la Woodgate!!
Sun Jan 26, 2014 5:42 pm
Going to be interesting to see if Ole has to pull his Norwegian connection and swoop for Vegard Forren who already declared his interest in following Ole. Certainly would be the easy way out.
Better that than not strengthening the CB at all. Forren is very capable and I'd rate him in front of all three current options.

I would like us to outbid West Ham if only just to piss them all off

Agreed. I would have loved to have seen what Ole would have done with the £12m+ wasted by Malky in the summer. But now I hope we can tempt a quality CB without getting fleeced

Very strange that is. Not often you hear of professional footballers at the top end of the game failing medicals.

Was gonna say Hartson at Rangers... But then I noticed you had said "Professional"

Toshack at Leicester

Asa Hartford failed a medical back in 1973 when he was going to sign for Leeds. Very big transfer at the time. They discovered that he had a hole in his heart. He got the " there's a hole in your heart dear Asa dear Asa dear Asa there's a hole in your heart dear Asa a hole " chant as a consequence at away games.

Remember Phil Dwyer injuring poor old Asa when he was playing for Scotland against Wales at Ninian Park! At least I think I do, memory not what bit was.
