Looking forward to this one. Over 3,000 Bluebirds travelling up.

Tough game, even more that it'll be Mata's debut, but honestly feel we can get something!

See you all in Manchester :ayatollah:

Carrick, RVP and Rooney are all injured so they may not play. Add that in with Vidic's red card I think we'll get something up there.

2-1 Cardiff.

United legend Solskjaer hopes to keep emotions in check on return to Old Trafford
By JOHN EDWARDS

PUBLISHED: 22:30, 26 January 2014 | UPDATED: 22:30, 26 January 2014

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted he doesn’t do emotion but then proceeded to share an anecdote that suggests his composure will be put to the test when he returns to Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

An ovation will accompany him every step of the way from the tunnel to the technical area at a venue where his dramatic Champions League final winner against Bayern Munich is still remembered in verse on the Stretford End.

Asked how he might feel on the walk from the corner flag to the halfway line, the Cardiff manager initially brushed it aside, and said: ‘I’m not too much of an emotional guy, so that won’t be a problem.

Solskjaer relishing Old Trafford return as Cardiff look to strengthen

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER had a twinkle in his eye on Saturday evening when asked about returning to Manchester United for the first time as a Premier League manager.

By: Chris HamiltonPublished: Mon, January 27, 2014
The Norwegian, revered for his goalscoring feats at Old Trafford between 1996 and 2007, will lead out his Cardiff side there tomorrow night.

United’s disastrous run of five defeats in six games during January – which has seen them bundled out of the FA Cup and the League Cup – has encouraged Solskjaer that rock-bottom Cardiff can increase David Moyes’ pain.

The former striker, who famously came off the bench to score the winner for United against Bayern Munich in the 1999 Champions League final, is guaranteed a rousing reception either way.

He said: “When we’ve watched the United games over the years back in Norway I’ve nudged the kids and said, ‘they are still singing about your dad!’

“But I’m not too much of an emotional guy so I don’t think that going back there will be a problem. I’m more professional than emotional but you never know, sometimes it just catches you doesn’t it? Like when you do your wedding speech!

“I’ll go there and of course I’ll enjoy it, but I’m not thinking about all the surroundings, I’m thinking about my team. I want us to go out there and play the best Cardiff can against a fantastic football team and the best club in the world.

“We went to Manchester City last week and did well for long periods, but we started off badly. That is a mindset we hope to change – and it’s a great chance to do it against Manchester United.”

Moyes, who looks certain to hand a debut to new club-record signing Juan Mata tomorrow, was in the stands at the Reebok on Saturday.

Shame this game wasn't last week. I think we would have been in with a good shout. Now with Mata on board and Van Persie being fit, it might be a tough game.

Former hero Solskjaer is back... but will Mata be a future hero? Duo in the spotlight as Moyes tries to get season back on track
By CHRIS MCKENNA

PUBLISHED: 22:59, 27 January 2014 | UPDATED: 22:59, 27 January 2014

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits he will not have to hold back the tears when Manchester United fans give him a warm welcome at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

The former United striker, who spent 11 years at the club, returns to the ground he became a late-goal hero at for the first time since taking charge of Cardiff City, but the attention definitely will not all be on the Norwegian.

Record signing Juan Mata is due to make his debut for United, after his £37.1million move from Chelsea.

It's a good time to play Utd,i think their in crisis at the moment.
Still an exceptionally good side but their there for the taking,c'mon the city.

I think it's very unlikely that we'll see Mats Daelhi in the starting line-up, if at all. He's definately not in 100% match fitness. And throwing him onto the pitch to salvage something at Old Trafford might be putting more pressure on the lad than OGS would like to.

For such a historic and important game for Cardiff, I believe OGS will pick experienced and "safe" players to start. Hope he leaves out Hudson though. My bet for the starting 11:

David Marshall

KTC Steven Caulker Ben Turner Kevin McNaughton

Gary Medel
Craig Noone Aron Gunnarsson Peter Whittingham
Jordan Mutch

Fraizer Campbell

Frazier Campbell 16/1 first or last goal scorer on bet365 - worth a tenner I think?

- Scored 3 goals in the last four games
- Scored the last Cardiff goal in the last 3 games
- Has scored in every game against a Manchester team this season

I can see a 1-1 draw from this game

Fun fact: In 133 out of 188 appearances Ole has left OT victorious.

I'm sure we'll se 134th tonight :ayatollah:

Team:

Marshall

Kev, Caulker, Hudson, John

Noone, Whitts, Medel, Bellamy, Mutch

Campbell

Subs: Turner, Kim, Eikrem, Gunnarsson, Daehli, Lewis, Berget

Surprised not to see Jones in the team, Fabio either, but to be honest I guess they're gonna train more first. Well excited though, let's give them a game tonight!
