Striker swap deal nears Stoke City, Last updated: 30 minutes ago Views: 30 Premier League strikers Peter Odemwingie and Kenwyne Jones are set to swap clubs in an exchange deal between Cardiff and Stoke City. The switch is now subject to the two players agreeing personal terms and passing their respective medicals. Odemwingie only joined Cardiff in a two-year-deal back in September from West Brom, but has failed to find the net in his last 13 appearances after initially scoring twice in four games. New Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn't see him as part of his plans as he attempts to steer the club away from the relegation zone, and is prepared to let the 32-year-old leave. Stoke were less interested in doing business, and viewed Jones as a key member of their squad, but the Trinidad & Tobago international has made it clear that he wants a move away from the Britannia Stadium. The 29-year-old, who has scored five times in cup competitions this term, was dropped from the first-team squad last weekend after refusing to play against Liverpool six days previously. He texted Potters manager Mark Hughes to tell him that he wasn't available for selection following speculation linking him with a move to Everton.
