A forum for all things Cardiff City

Hello Cardiff!
Just another norweginan/OGS/Manutd supporter joining your forum. In advance,
sorry if some part of my english is hard to understand.
I have been visiting this forum frequently since OGS became manager.
I had to finally register because one thing strikes me as odd.
The OGS midfield rotation system, that no one talks about, and that OGS loves.
People complaining about not adding already PM material to the midfield.
OGS has earlier described one of the most important things he learnt from Fergie,
is the rotating midfield.
So, in Molde, before taking their first title for the team, in decades, he strengthend the midfield, buying a lot of players to
an already very good midfield. Believing that double up on the midfield is the key to succsess. There were a lot of critical voices, saying the Ferguson rotation system would not work in Molde. But it did. OGS knows that in the end of the season, there are injuries and yellow/red cards to deal with, and in molde he had a 24 player squad with 10 midfielders who could play. The same thing is happening in Cardiff at the moment. I would not think that OGS is strengthening the midfield with better player, but with more players,
I am quite sure OGS will keep the midfielders he wants, and ending up with 9-10 who all could play in PM/FA Cup etc
The fact that he have already signed the top 3 of norwegian u-21 midtfield is something to be happy about, not to question. It doesnt mean they will all start every game, but from time to time to rest their teammates.
P.S
You all saw today what Matts could do. We who have seen his international all feel the same way. superb!
As for Eikrem and Berget. Please have paitience. They will both be fine players quite soon. The pace is a lot harder and they have to adjust, and they have not been playing for months.

Welcome and thanks for the info...fans are always critics of players sometimes before they see them play, so don't be too put off by that.

Good post fellow Norwegian:)
One thing that also struck me with Ole is that he has the ability to keep his squad hungry and ok with not playing every game.Thats not an easy task.I think that shows how well liked Ole is as a coach and that they trust him.
He was a supersub, and he seems to carry that on by making gamechanging subs.In that area he is allredy among the best coaches in the world in my opinion. He showed that time and time again in his 3 years in Molde.
One other very important thing that I have noticed with Molde under Ole is that EVERY player that wants to develop seems to develop. And I think we see much of the reason for that in the interviews with him.It is because he really backs up his players, tell them he believes in them, trust them, make them more confident,he makes them want to go out and enjoy football, express themselves, play for the fans, the shirt, the team.
Ole is allready an excellent coach in my view and I am confident he will in just a few years be ranked up with the best of them.
