BOLTON FC AND STEWARDING - DISGRACEFUL

Sat Jan 25, 2014 6:59 pm

Secret filming of Bolton W Stewards
link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZRHjcAzCj0 (Another Bolton home game).

The bars and food kiosks were shut shortly after the kick off and we were informed that they would remain closed for the remainder of the game because of safety issues, even though there had been no issues before kick off or up to the point of closing the bars and kiosks.

Fans were getting wound up not because of the alcohol not being served but more so because there was no hot drinks or food being served, it was the coldest away game of the season and there was no reason for Bolton to take the course of action they did.

Back in the ground and some of the stewards started behaving in the same manner as last season, over zealous and acting like they were the law. As a result this brought about flashes of confrontations between the stewards and fans and then police had to intervene.

There were 2 City fans arrested today and 6 fans were ejected.

One fan who was the carer of a a disabled supporter in a wheelchair was ejected for his celebration of our goal. Between the bottom of the stand and the pitch there are two lines of advertising hoardings, the traditional hoardings and the electronic ones, the carer celebrated between the two sets of advertising and was still a few yards from the pitch but was ejected for encroachment.

When it was pointed out to the stewards that it was a carer who had been ejected they went to the police and sought advice, the police came to the disabled fan and told him that as he had no carer with him now, he would have to leave the stadium, you couldn't make it up.

A couple of us who were standing directly behind the disabled section offered to care for the fan who did not wish to miss the remainder of the game.

This was a small example of the stewarding at Bolton today and I recognised two of the stewards from last season, one in particular who seemed to be enjoying taunting sections of City support.

We will report it at the next travel club meeting but I am sure our club officials will be looking into certain aspects if the stewarding at Bolton and seek the appropriate course of action.

This makes my blood boil, it really does. Away fans at the CCS are served beers, their native food, season highlight DVD's playing and staff dressed in their teams kit. The club even tweets advice to them prior to the game. At the complete polar opposite, we get absolute tossers of 'stewards' at games like Bolton causing problems like this. And to have no food or drink available throughout the game is simply unacceptable. The club absolutely need to raise this with the FA or whatever authority and get the fuckers fined - hit them where it hurts & get those couple of coward steward-cunts sacked. Cannot believe they threw a carer out and then, even worse, they ask the guy being cared for to leave. Unbelievable.

I have heard from a mate who was there that a 13 year old lad was pushed over by a steward, did anyone see this??......A mate made a complaint about this specificaly and was kicked out of the stadium for raising the complaint.

If we are to be treated like this on away-days, the next time Bolton are at the CCS, close the food stalls.

The club should make an official complaint on the fan's behalf..!!

Surely closing the food kiosks can't be legal? I thought they had a duty to provide food and drink, or at the very least water, as you can't leave the premises during the game :?

organise as fans group and everyone now haves video on phones. when bad behaviour
ocurs or any wrongdoing. the call to go out Video Them!!! 50 mobile cameras will most
likely mean prosecution for some steward. do not ask police what is wrong until video
cameras are all on and pointing. very simple. this they did in Napoli with police

When you purchase a ticket you then get the whole package and that includes refreshments. Football fans are treated like shite and then they wonder why they play up sometimes. Some stewards do need a slap.

Its enough to make you jack it all in and walk away from the game, fans are treated appallingly.

For spoiling it for the rest of us and stopping us buying hot drinks/food on one of the coldest away trips this season.

The real reason of today's decision to close food kiosks 50 to 60 of our darling kid fans jumping up and down singing let's go ****ing mental with beer going over the staff serving.

When I was arguing with a steward at half time re the reason his answer act like animals get treated like animals

Yes some of the stewards acted like idiots but they were probably pissed off with the actions of some of our fans

Normally I wouldn't give a shit but was particularly pissed off with some of our "fans" today

NJ, I was there 5mins before halftime with my daughter and there was no problem with our fans at all, then the stewards arrived and said they wont be opening any food outlets due to health and safety and they had been told to say this from the top. We were all stunned, even our Police complained, then after about 10 mins of waiting yes 50 odd youngsters started dancing and signing, no trouble at all from them, yes they danced around, but it was 100% nothing to do with that, it had already been decided long before that.

I can understand why they shut the kiosks, anyone in the about 45 mins before kick off would have seen the pints being flung all over the place. No right to shut them altogether though, it was bloody freezing and I was killing for a hit chocolate!
Someone on my bus said someone got chucked out for using a smoke bomb but I didn't see one?

All I wanted was a coffee and a hot chocolate for my daughter, it was freezing up in Bolton today, even the police were shocked it was all closed.

When I asked a steward she said they were closed because of what happened before the game. Fair enough if they want to stop serving alcohol, but how can they surely stop serving coffee, tea, hit chocolate and food on such a cold day.

Good day overall though :malky:

Got to give credit to one steward though a kid dropped his pie on the floor and did not want to eat but before he bought another one the steward took it off him and exchanged it.

:thumbright:

Quiet a few of them were looking to start trouble though. As for the smoke bomb seen a lad get ejected for I believe picking it up off the floor and dropping it down the exit stairs.
Just after our goal a fan was ejected for laying into another fan and I mean he was pelting this guy, this was in the home end by the way.

So NJ is not interested in his own fans fighting yet actively trawls Cardiff forums for any info to post to try to stir things up about todays events at a Cardiff City match? No idea why he posts but he spends far too much time on here to be healthy for sure. Not good. 64jack posted a decent view on the issue of 'Greater Manchester' Police over zealous attitudes to football fans and the subsequent effect on small-balled stewards. NJ clearly has some issues and judging by his activity, avatar and footer message, are clearly related to low self-esteem.

I haven't seen anything about Jacks fighting, though we stopped near Ross on Wye to change drivers and went in the Spar. There's a Subway in there and the man who runs it said he had to shut because 2 bus loads of Jacks wrecked the place about an hour before we got there. Apparently one was dancing naked on he tables

I put it on here, that I had been told the Jacks were battling with Birmingham away from the ground today, about 40 on to 40.Brum lads told me, said it was quite nasty, no one run.

We are not the only club who has had problems with Bolton.

One of the reasons I didn't go today was partly what happened last season.

Dando, a good friend of mine a Bolton season ticket holder, told me that their stewards have had many complaints made against them in the last 2 years.

So they smashed up a Subway. No fast-food joint or bar stool is safe when Bristol City or the jacks are around. What beauties. I pity the Subway manager after having to witness one of Nevs finest waving his maggot about.

I think someone posted a video of some footage from a Reading fan it might have been Reading where the stewards were being knobheads.

I don't want to sound stupid or pathetic but it was one reason no doubt I didn't go up there, kind of ruins the day in some respects and the fact you could be doing nothing wrong yet get picked on for no reason.

Sadly I saw that today, with my own eyes, we were no angels years ago, but we were well behaved today and they were hell bent on picking on our fans.

I take your word for it and have no doubt, the way the carer and the supporter in the wheelchair was treated and how the situation was handled is just shocking.

What you meant to say was, we are well behaved now, compared to how bad we used to be, which was very bad  I don't know why our supporters get so wound up, a large percentage behave like cunts, how amusing do they find it to smoke in the away toilets, not that it just f*cking stinks, but it is also a safety issue. Yet they laugh in the face of anyone who questions their actions. I have had many jump in front when queuing at the kiosks, just pushing in, when you confront them, they are happy to have a scrap over it, that's how f*cking sad some are, willing to fight each other over a place in a Que. A large percentage of our support are pricks and that's the way everyone perceives us, deal with it or stop whingeing
