A forum for all things Cardiff City

Now relegation has to be a possibility this season. We have a very inexperienced manager and some players signed from some unconvincing Norwegian teams. Now i think our squad hasnt got the quality or the experience to stay up, but that is just my opinion.
How would you feel if we were relagated ? I know we will loose a lot of the newbie fans but how would you all feel ?
Does the fact it costs an arm and a leg to follow the City this season and once we have done this season will it then be to much on the finances to do it again next season ?
Now is it the day out with the Lads more important to you than say going to Man U or Liverpool ? And would you be happy that it would piss Tan off like mad if we went down ?.
Interesting to know your views and please be honest if you travel or just watch on MOTD.

I would like to stay up, but it wouldn't bother too much if we didn't. All part of the ups and downs. It won't stop me going.

Relegation is a fact of footballing life. If we go down, it will be disappointing, but hardly the end of the world. I've known 8 or 9 relegations in my time, and the same number of promotions.
I just enjoy going to Cardiff City games, home or away, in whatever division. As for the Premier League, the only clubs that I don't remember City playing in the league, at sometime or other over the years, are Arsenal, Everton, and Liverpool. Even then, we played them in cups.
The worst thing that can happen to Cardiff City has already happened. The 're-branding'. Going up and down the leagues is nothing in comparison.

Don't care what Tan thinks, quite sad if people would. Enjoy relagation for that reason.
It's be disappointed but life goes on, we would try again.
I don't think we will go down though, we at least now have a fighting chance with Malky replaced.

The thing is if you are going to replace a manager then he has to be better than the outgoing one. Now I didn't like Malkys tactics but I think he would of kept us up. Now with OLE its a god knows how he will do !! 50/50 and his signings will be the same as well.

Sounds like you've thrown the towel in already.
If we did go down fans will drop off but we have a squad to come straight back up and these fans would be back if we were near or top of the championship.
Fans who travel will always find the money it's like a drug habit.
My opinion is we'll beat the drop so fear not nuclear.

if we kept malky we would have gone down just because we couldnt score goals at least we look like scoring now and the performance against man city was really good if we continue that then we will be fine our season starts here and its in our hands as all teams around us have to come to our ground

I see it the opposite way around, felt certain we going down under malky.

I've been watching city since 1967, going up and down are part of the sport. I for one can say I've been underwhelmed by the Premiership, and not because we have struggled.( though I think we'll stay up). The championship seems to have a better atmosphere, louder supporters and more competitiveness. I also miss Tuesday evening football. Football under floodlights is a great spectacle for me, I really do miss that. Que sera sera!

It would be a bit of a disaster, as we have spent so much and are building to be a mod table premiership team. There will be a fine line, but I think we will do it, as we have the owner and Manager untied and a good run of fixtures with enough weak teams still home to do it.
If we go down, it wouldn't be the end of the world, I like the Championship, either way I'll be there

I still enjoyed it and we had some good game, well one man city game currently one of the best teams in the world for sure the best team in europe in my oppinion if you take messi out of the equation at barca.
Im happy to go down I think we would come back up . sure ole would leave though..
i think 15th tho
Fri Jan 24, 2014 8:59 pm
Don't want to go down because I want us to win as often as possible. I wouldn't be too bothered if we did drop because going to the smaller grounds is as good, if not a better away day. My main aim is to see this club back in blue. If that means 3 relegations then so be it.

I was more likely to quit if I had to put up with a couple more seasons of Malkys tactics than relegation

If we had kept Malky, I honestly believe we would now be 5pts better off and 100% would not have gone down as long as Tan stopped undermining him and working against Malky. We will never know now. When Malky left we were above the bottom 3 and we then had Sunderland and West Ham at home to come.
Ole is here now and we should fully get behind him, there is no reason why we should go down this season, plenty, plenty to play for and its all in our hands

Not even considering relegation! Just gunna scream for my team!! Bloooooooooooooobirds!
Fri Jan 24, 2014 10:44 pm
I think its a cert.
It will be a wake up call to Vinnie.
Perhaps then he may see the error in his ways.
Always hope....
Follow the club in any league, can say I've watched em in all of the leagues now.
Fri Jan 24, 2014 10:47 pm
We have a massive month coming up and I reckon Ole's philosophy is totally the opposite to Malkys and we could well blow some of those around us away judging by the second half against WHU and for decent periods against Man City. Whatever happens, I'll be there next season. I support the Bluebirds whatever division they are in.
Fri Jan 24, 2014 10:49 pm
The thing that will dampen the disappointment if we get relegated is knowing it will hurt Tan and his ego.

We'll be ok

Relegation was always a possibility this season nothing has changed.
Malky was also a very inexperienced manager. Ole has more experience for the premiership than him
Most of Malkys summer signings had no quality or the experience to stay up. But that's just my opinion.
If we are relegated we will be in a better place to have a go at going back up than two years ago.
It does cost a arm and a leg and you have to pick your games if on a budget like me.
f**k Tan, Cardiff city is more important than him.
Malky wouldn't have kept us up. The way we played against the teams around us proves it. Its all well and good upping you game against the big side and against our local rivals. But that on its own won't keep us up. We have to win against the teams around us and Malkys mindset against villa and norwich( i didn't go to palace or stoke, which was just has bad) showed us, Malky didn't have the guts and mindset to keep us up.

More negativity, how original how about getting behind our team 100% and support them regardless not throwing them into the dirt saying they're not good enough, I'm a CCFC supporter i support the players and whoever is managing us aznd i believe we will stay up, enough of this negative bullshit and get behind the club when they need it most

I've been to every league game this season and intend to keep that going in case we get relegated. I want to go to all the Premiership grounds while I can. But if we do get relegated, It wouldn't bother me if we follow Wolves and get consecutive relegations down to League 1. I know that sounds silly, but this season is killing me financially, Tan has stopped me enjoying it and I don't feel I'm getting value for money.
My feelings at the moment are sod the football, it's all about the day out as a whole, particularly on away days. Man City away there wasn't a single place walking distance from their stadium where away fans were allowed to go, we weren't allowed in anywhere! I would take watching a game on the terracing at Rochdale, be allowed in a boozer and be treated like a human being by the locals over overpriced, Premiership stadiums with no soul, atmosphere and terrible views any day.

It Would be mixed emotions for me,
Sad to be leaving the top flight after only one season, but at least id get better value from my season ticket next season.
Im confident we will stay up though.

TB I know where your coming from. I would go one step further and hope we survive like Portsmouth. The thought of Tan going and some other owner coming in and putting us through this again is just not worth contemplating about. Playing premiership fottball under these circumstances does not cut it with me and if Ole gets us playing exciting stuff I still can't see it cutting with me.
Will say though in the lower leagues going to local boozers near the grounds can not be as friendly as you think.
