Norwegian Invasion

Will these players cut it thats the question, imo i dont think they will keep us up as ole's rador only spans to bringing players in from his old club up to date, yet the same players worked with him for two seasons at molde and i've not seen a prem club linked with any of the signings so far prior to ole comming to us :ayatollah:

Plenty of quotes on here from Ole, the players are not the answer for now but for the future.

Two of them are products of Manchester United's academy and their fans are bewildered as to why they were let go, especially Dæhli. He went for first team football and has won trophies at a team that has exceeded expectations based on history. Manchester United meanwhile have just splashed £60m plus on 2 midfielders in Fellaini and Mata. Of course they are better than what we have now but they had 2 products ready to bring through as Fergie did many years ago yet they lost them. It wouldn't be the first time Manchester United have lost young quality players as well.

People also seem to forget Brady at Hull City is a product of Manchester United yet he has been instrumental in their campaign so far and arguably their best player along with Huddlestone and Livermore. Ezekial Fryers at Spurs is tipped for big things yet Manchester United let him go as well.

I think the Norwegians will be fine. Two of them have experience at youth/reserve level so will understand the combative nature of the Premier League and will know what it takes to step up just as Januzaj has done. Berget is more of a risk but he's one Ole believes in because he's already featured in his side at Molde FK and understands what he's trying to implement. Again, its the same reason Rodgers took Allen to Liverpool to get the ball rolling on how to ensure his ways got across.

Put it this way, I'd rather a manager take players from a team he has managed and worked with before than a manager taking massive gambles on players he has no idea about other than the compilation of a scouts report. Solskjaer knows what these players are capable of first hand. He knows himself and is not relying on accurate scouts to relay the information to him. I think thats far less of a gamble. Plus they're Norwegian and will want to do Solskjær, a national icon in their country, proud and will perform for him. I'd rather than than somebody like Odemwingie who has Premier League experience just coming here for a final pay cheque.

You carnt even compare him imo you got people having off days around you then you normally play bad in most cases at utd ole was around probly the worlds best team at the time which made him clearly :ayatollah:

I'll judge them after i see them play, i hate this website sometime way too much negativity, experience doesn't always mean success just look at QPR, Ole knows what he's doing if he trusts these players and think they are good enough lets get behind them and cheer them on not tell them they're not good enough, plus we're Cardiff not Man City or Chelsea. what you were expecting massive signings?, for all you know these guys could shine in the prem like Noone and Mutch

Good post arrow and agree with most of your points, its true all the big clubs let players go dont get me wrong but if these players ole has signed to date won a championship out there with molde yet didnt get a sniff from a prem club at the time. Lets hope im wrong. as for the some of the drift wood malky has left behind well obviously ole has to work with them for now. I just can not see us staying up with a few norwegians helping out IF THEY GET A GAME. Theres seven days left of the window lets hope for some better prem xp players come in with fight in them for the battle ahead :ayatollah:

I fail to see why its negative, i dont think they will be enough to keep us up at this current time. What are posters supposed to say they will be with real madrid in two years time as there to good for us by then. Keep it real with your own opinion thats all posters can do as we are not all nodding dogs or think the same. This word negative gets tossed about if you say we lost badly after a defeat ffs when in the real world we did but your not allowed to say it on here or NEGATIVE gets tossed in the thread about 100times or how people hate the forum :ayatollah:

I agree with you completely, of course. Was just mocking the "one for the future" idea. But how does your comment relate to, say, Cornelius then?

ever thought that he has plans to sign zaha ramis etc as well as the norwegians, but the nowergian deals will go a little quicker since he already knows them and the agent well, where is with ramis etc he has had to start from scratch, im so glad ole doesnt share your opinions though!

But there’s an interesting twist to all of this. When OGS took over Molde, their sugardady (Roekke) and other sponsors kept the side afloat, attributing for close to 85% of their income. After only three years of OGS reign, this figure is now down to 15%, much due to his brilliant tradings. The guy’s a businessman in addition to other qualities. So you should not only see the signings as a short term prem lifeline, but consider the long term good for CCFC as well.

Re: Norwegian Invasion

The saddest thing about Malkeys premier league spending is that if you put all Cardiffs expensive and 'better'players in a game against players from the rest of the squad you would not be sure of the outcome. I e I dont think they are much better than the players we already had and a lot of money was spent.
Whether the three Norwegians will be significantly better is a moot point. But top players wont come to a relegation threatened team. That said if we can get Zaha I think he can make a big impact.

I guess i'll get slagged off for suggesting it but I would like to think (or at least hope) that OGS came here ln the understanding that he would try to keep the City up (main objective and planA) but that he was looking at developing the club in the medium term. I hope that is the case and it fits with the 5 year + relationship talked about by the Chief Executive.
Of course this would mean that Tan agreed to the possibility of relegation and that OGS might continue as manager in the Championsip, re build and come back stronger!! (Fallback Plan B). I would think the wages being paid for the 3 Norwegians would mean they are viable to keep in the Championship. Whereas Medal and Caulker etc would be on their way. Daehli is a Real prospect!
Lets hpe plan A works - and Zaha arrives and has a big impact!!
