I think Froch might first agree a deal with Chavez Jr and then vacate. I cant see Groves winning a rematch however. Froch gets stronger as the fight goes on and Groves slows at a time when a clean hit will take more out of you due to work done earlier in the fight. If the fight does go ahead I'm going with Froch to win sometime between rounds 8-12.

Please alert me to where I have said any differently? Agreeing a deal does not mean fight. Froch will agree a deal with Chavez Jr before vacating his belts to give himself some insurance. If he vacates and then the Chavez Jr deal falls through then he will not have the IBF belt. He'd be in a worse off position. If the Chavez Jr deal is a success he'll vacate the belt and proceed to fight Chavez Jr. If the deal falls through he'll take the Groves fight after exploring all other options.

Its easy for Froch to come up with an excuse and say he's going to fight Ward or someone again as its an international fight rather than a domestic fight. He'll use the argument 'I've already beat him once so I don't know why I should do it again'. We know how the game works now. Lets not fool ourselves. Froch survived because the 1st round knockdown happened with about 20 seconds of the round to go. If it had happened earlier in the round he would have been knocked out or fight stopped. His legs were gone and he didnt know where he was.

Groves only had a 3 fight deal with hearn. That ran out prior to the froch fight, the froch fight was done by hearn for both sides, but it was out of contract when it was done. Groves has had offers from near enough every big promoter out there UK and US.
