An excellent, classy defender who could play anywhere across the back 4. Unfortunately we had him a few years too late and it was probably the right decision not to renew his contract as he started slowing up, but overall he still did an excellent job for us. We could do with a Tony Vidmar in his prime now.

Talking of players who we could do in their prime here now I would love to see Chris Riggott playing in this present line up, what a classy defender just a shame injuries ruined his career .

Chris Riggott's one and only full game for us at home (to Coventry I believe?) was as good a centre back display I have seen. I couldn't believe how classy he was on the ball and how accurate his distribution was.

I remember how frustrated and upset Riggott was when he had to come off at Bristol City after breaking down again in his second game for us - he punched the roof of the dugout I seem to remember!

He obviously knew he was in trouble and that another comeback was unlikely. Felt very sorry for him.

Vidmar was a decent player for us at the time. Didn't he go back to Australia after he left us or did he go to another team in Europe?

Vidmar was very versatile, could tell he'd played at the top level for so long. Very classy even though he was getting on.
