Didnt ask my question to Malky on Talksport

Fri Jan 24, 2014 9:42 am

I texted in a question today. When you take on your next job,if the funds are available, will you be trying to get Cornelius from Cardiff City? I think not,yet you paid 8m and 45 grand a week on him at Cardiff.

He will never get another job with the funds he had available at Cardiff. Never.

Bet you he will.

We don't even know whether Cornelius was a mistake yet.

All in all, his transfers since joining the club have been class. Some stinkers, but that always happens.

More positive transfers than negative transfers. People seem to forget that

If Tan didn't want to pay what we did for Cornelius, he wouldn't have. Tan stopped Malky signing Wanyama and Montero because he thought Celtic were asking for too much and Montero's agent got greedy demanding more money. But the Cornelius deal was allowed to go ahead, which baffles me as he's looking a very poor signing so far.

As I've said before, I've seen Cornelius play several times at Forest Green, Cheltenham, Accrington etc as well as his brief cameo appearances off the bench. But what I will never forgive was his lack of effort when he came on at home to Sunderland. I don't mind the fact he may not have the ability, what bothers me is the lack of effort he showed on the pitch that game, jogging from side to side, allowing the Sunderland defenders to walk the ball into our half to start attack after attack after attack and eventually, they got their late equaliser.

Daft statement? I dont think so.

Only the very top clubs have 50m at their disposal in a transfer window and Malkys hoofball wouldnt go down well at the top clubs.

Malky is a championship manager at best, his next job will be Bolton.

You got to laugh at people who say why didnt Tan step in and put the block on the Cornelius signing.

The same people who would go bananas if he would get involved in football decisions.

You could just imagine the outcry on here if it was said Tan stopped Malky signing someone he wanted to as Tan didnt think he was a good player.

Double standards? Not arrrf.

The Wanyama and Montero deals were completely different as things had been agreed then the clubs / agents started pissing us around.

I dont think we would find anyone who would take him on a free on his current wages.

Of course he was a mistake. The priority this year had to be survival, but Malky wasted a significant part of his budget on a striker who he (later) admitted was not ready to contribute - insane.

As mad as Tan is Annis you cannot deny he had given Malky full backing in the funds department and Malky blew it.

But Malky didn't control the money or set monetary limits, so we must conclude it came from someone else.

Malky wanted Wanyama and Montero but Tan stopped Malky signing them, which I thought was fair enough to be honest as Tan's the owner and like you say, they moved the goal posts. There wasn't any complaints from me, I completely understood why we backed out of those deals, even though I'm 100% against Tan.
