Cardiff City bid for Wigan Athletic defender Ivan Ramis - reports

According to reports, Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made his move for the central defender
Wigan Athletic's Ivan Ramis
Cardiff City have reportedly made a move for Wigan defender Ivan Ramis.
It is known Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen for a new centre-back to boost his side's defensive and possession qualities as they look to climb out of the Premier League relegation places.
And the Daily Mail are claiming a bid has been submitted to the FA Cup holders for the former Mallorca 29-year-old. Ramis played 19 games for Wigan last year following his move from La Liga in the summer of 2012, playing alongside current Swansea City defender Chico Flores.
But he could not stop the club's slide into the Championship after suffering knee ligament damage in a January draw with Fulham.
And his return in the second-tier has been restricted by muscle injuries.
That has not stopped him being linked with a move away with Crystal Palace reportedly interested and now Cardiff touted to have made an offer to the Championship club.
Solskjaer has given Steven Caulker, Ben Turner and Mark Hudson opportunities in the heart of defence since taking over from Malky Mackay but it is understood he is in the market for a centre-half in the January window having already snapped up midfielders Mats Daehli and Magnus Eikrem from former club Molde.
Wilfried Zaha is close to agreeing a loan switch from Manchester United while reports in Germany maintain Cardiff are still not giving up hope of luring Hannover strike Mame Diouf to South Wales.

his injury was a big part in their relegation i think, i especially remember the Swansea match, where they were woeful defensively.

Yes they missed him badly. If he's fit and raring to go he would be a good signing.

Has played 7 times this season so should be ok fitness wise. Could very well turn out to be a good signing if we get him

I would worry if he hasn't been good enough or fit enough to feature every week for Wigan in the Championship - wouldn't appear better than we already have.

He played 6 full games in December and then went off injured on the 1st of Jan after 29 mins, hasn't played since then.

i think (or rather hope) his injury last season was carried on into this one, thus meaning he has only just come back)
bit of a kick in the teeth for Wigan though, getting him back fit only for him to leave.

Uwe Rösler started his managing career in Norway. Wouldn't be surprised if he has given Ramis advice to go to Cardiff based on Ole's managing/ their connection.

Rosler was OGS predecessor at Molde.
