First off,I am not a Molde fan.I played against them 1 or 2 times almost 30 years ago,and that stuck with me for life it seems
I am big Ole fan though.Just a decent good and intelligent guy who I believe will reach the top among international managers/coaches.
If you throw in a link to a youtube clip that will make it easier to know who you mean.I don't know who is number 8 on Molde, and I don't know if they played with a firm left winger.I think Molde often played kind of 4-4-2,but I am honestly not sure.Jo Inge Berget often wander around the left side, but also was more of a second striker, often a little lower in the pitch working hard and giving really good passes to the other striker.Jo Inge Berget is a really talented guy, around 22 years I think, but if he is better than all the many good players allready in Cardiff I don't know.
Molde has two quite small pacey strikers in Fredrik Guldbrandsen and Tommy Hoeyland.I guess maybe it was Guldbrandsen you saw on youtube? Also a great talent, but still quite young and a talent.
Vegard Forren was in my opinion absolutely brilliant as left CB in the 2012 season, maybe the best player overall in the Norwegian League that year, and I was sure that one of the near top clubs in europe was going to pick him up.He went to Southampton, but never got to play for the first team.Don't understand why,but maybe he just hasn't got enough pace to play in premiership? That is my concern about him,the pace. Molde bought him back in second half of 2013,but since then I have not seen him getting back to the top level he was in 2012.In 2013 I think the other CB Even Hovland was better than Forren.
Nyland is a good goalkeeper, but also still a talent, not fully developed, and I don't know if he rivals Marshall.Marshall looks like a class goalkeeper to me.
I think maybe it is smart to just wait and see how Eikrem and Daehli compares when they get tested on a high premiership level before Ole looks to much at other Norwegian talents.
One rumour had it that Ole tried to get Stroemsgodset central midfielder Stefan Johanson, who in my opinion was one of the best players in Norway the 2013 season, but a rumour said that Johanson turned the Oles offer down. He has now signed for Celtic.
Cheers,
Rune
