Eikrem should definitely start against United. He loves going forward and is not scared to shoot. Where Whitts looks for a pass if he has a chance at goal.

Agreed. Eikrem's turn and through ball to split the Man City defence open was something we have all been waiting for Whittingham to give us this season. If Campbell managed to stretch his leg out a bit further to control it, he would have been through on goal. The difference is Whittinghm probably would have eventually seen that pass, but Whittingham wouldn't have managed to turn the Man City player and release the ball as quickly as Eikrem did. By the time Whittingham spots a pass, the chance has already gone because he isn't quick enough for the Premiership.

Its sad for Whitts, but Eikrem has much quicker speed of thought, as well as delivery and has to be a starter now.

I would play a 4-1-3-1-1
Marshal
John
Turner
Caulker
KTC
Medel(CDM)
Bellamy(wing)
Mutch(CM)
Noone (wing)
Eikrem (CAM)
Campbell
I like that formation with eikrem falling back a little to help Mutch.

Can't possibly make a decision on eikrem ubtill we've seen him play at least 60-70 mins from the start. Obv ole knows him well but don't understand how people can say drop whitts for him after he's had a couple of 10-15 min spells.

I think the fact Eikrem wasn't given any game time for the development last night shows Ole is happy he's already fit. Eikrem has offered more in his 10-15 minute appearances during the last 2 games than Whittingham. I can see Whittingham getting closed down and losing the ball often at Old Trafford as he's too slow in possession, so it's a no brainer to include Eikrem instead of Whittingham for me.

Eikrem will be given 90 against Bolton, and then when he performs, Ole will use it as a reason to let Whittingham on the bench for a while. Then Ole will have showed he gave him a chance and that he should impress on training to get back.

Why do people think putting a weak side out against Bolton is going to help us?
We are playing Man Utd away the chances of us losing are high no matter who we use.

I disagree , man utd are average this year and very beatable with a good performance . No Rooney, van Persie or vidic . They are off form and there for the taking especially with the return of solskjaer

There not there for the taking at all. Crystal Palace Aston Villa West Ham Sunderland were there for the taking, we all know how that went.
They are the champions we are bottom.
The more we lose the worse the players confidence will be.
Saying Man Utd at Old Trafford are there for the taking is crazy talk.

My opinion is if are going to avoid relegation, the last thing we need is a long cup run. We need our main players as fresh as possible for Old Trafford and every other Premiership game. If we play as well as we did away to Man City and most importantly, get the first goal to cause Man Utd even further negativity, we have every chance of pinching a result. Teams like West Brom have won there this season and we don't really want to risk doing a Wigan, winning the FA Cup but getting relegated. Also, if we play a weakened team at Bolton, it will give Ole a great chance to see how much strength in depth we have and he can decided who needs to be offloaded and brought in this transfer window.
