Is the worst signing of the season for any club...
Surely Zaha is that?
Higher fee and hasn't featured at all?
Tue Jan 21, 2014 11:00 am
yeah id agree. Both bad signings for sure.
Tue Jan 21, 2014 11:02 am
And we could end up with both of them

bad signing doesnt mean bad player though.
15m for a player who isnt getting a look is is bad. Doesnt mean zaha cant be good at this level given a run of games. Same goes for cornelius.

Corndogg earns 10k a wk more than corndogg

technically, Zaha signed for man united last season
Tue Jan 21, 2014 12:23 pm
Although I don’t think Zaha is as good as people make out I think he has shown he does have very good aspects to his game, you can certainly see the potential in him.
Put it this way id rather pay 12m for Zaha than 8m for Cornelius
Tue Jan 21, 2014 12:27 pm
plus 15 mill is nothing to manchester utd, spending 8.5 mill plus on a player as raw as cornelius is crazy for a club of our stature
Tue Jan 21, 2014 12:55 pm
We should be looking to get Cornelius out the door already, looks awful. Give him away if we have too

Nice shop and clothing mate. Bang tidy that.

Both players haven't been given a chance, best thing to do is loan them out. Both players have a lot of potential. People need to work on their patience saying get rid of
corny lol geez I'm glad its not you in charge here.

We should make you head of recruitment mate, that's hell of a business plan!
Granted a rash decision to buy him so young and expensive but if he starts bagging goals your the silly tw*t that will be eating your words!

Zaha.................would another prem club buy him...........yes..prob for less than UTD paid..but yes
Cornelius............would another prem club even take him on a free no..........
our guy wins hands down.................45k a wk..far too steep for a football league club..even if they were interested..
i really hop this changes..........aint the boys fault...and i want everyone at our club to do well....but you cant compare these two signings...my opinion
Tue Jan 21, 2014 5:20 pm
Is this based on game time played? Or fact he's been injured more or less since signed? Certainly cannot be on games played as he hasn't started one?

love to know how people have formed this opinion.
Tue Jan 21, 2014 5:24 pm
fellaini has gotta be up there too!
Tue Jan 21, 2014 5:31 pm
No doubt about it. Absolute dud signing and possibly the worst in the clubs history!!

Don't forget diago forlan at man u by far biggest failure in premier history

We've all formed this opinion because he hasn't had one decent touch at all. Not even against accrington Stanley

Here's some of the competition for Acorn as worst signings this season all of which came with bigger reputations and more expensive.
Étienne Capoue - Spurs - £10m
Stevan Jovetic - Man City - £22m
Marouane Fellaini - Man Utd - £27m
Erik Lamela - Spurs - £30m
Tue Jan 21, 2014 10:28 pm
Cornelius is on par with Luque and Savio in terms of flops.

The difference between them teams and ours is that they can afford to make a mistake or two on a player, because they have great players that can play in those positions. We desperately needed a striker and the money was pissed up against the wall on cornflop. It's really fukt us over signing this dud and could be the reason we go down, cheers malks

Yeah I agree that we needed to make better use of the money but its not all Acorns fault after all we still have the other forwards Malky signed at the club. How many of this lot could be regarded as success stories?
Campbell
Odemwingie
Bellamy
Smith
Mason
Velakonjia
Helguson
Gestede
Maynard
Cornelius
There's probably more than I can remember. Doesn't make great reading tbh

Van Wolfswinkel?
Similar player, price and club. Has had less injuries.
