IMO Park plaza is defiantly the best city centre hotel and their Restraunt is very good too I was there over Christmas and Andrew Taylor was on next table to me with his mrs, if you prefer the bay st Davids is the best and Demiros restraunt with their Spanish,Italian & welsh menu is something different.. Have a good time!

You are spoilt for choice, hotels and restaurants to suit every age and pocket.
Stayed at the Park Thistle just before Christmas (and again next week) recommend the Madera and Giovanni’s
A B&B and chip alley works as well

The last place we stayed at was the Maldron, bottom of St Mary's St, (opposite the Great Western) with Viva Brazil restaurant below. Excellent bar & eating too. Plenty of flat screens with Sky sports on.

I've also heard the St Davids hotel & spa down the Bay is very nice, five star. You never know, you just might bump into a Cardiff City player or two,,even the manager.

Try the Custom House Penarth Marina by the Barrage for food - you can chose your fish or meat at the counter. Top quality and a good wine list at fair prices. I had a bottle of Pesquera there once and while I could get newer vintages cheaper in a shop, the same vintage was on sale in a supermarket at £1 more than the restaurant. Lots of good Rioja and Champagne at reasonable prices as well.
