A bar manager who menaced a policeman with a bread-knife had to be tasered.

James Bradshaw told the constable: “I have been to prison. I have committed murder. I am a Millwall fan,” and indicated a tattoo on his arm.

The officer had gone to Bradshaw’s home after the defendant had smashed his next-door neighbour’s car windscreen.

Bradshaw, 28, of Glendale Close, Bispham, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer by causing him fear and breaking a windscreen.

He was bailed for pre-sentence reports and will be sentenced at a later date by Blackpool magistrates.

Philip Potter, prosecuting, said there had been problems over parking between Bradshaw and his next-door neighbour.

On December 28 at 10.15pm the neighbour saw Bradshaw swing his arm in the direction of his car.

He had smashed the neighbour’s windscreen with a half-brick.

A police officer arrived and tried to arrest Bradshaw in his home. There was a struggle and the defendant ran into his dining room and put his weight behind the door.

The officer managed to push his way in and saw Bradshaw with a knife which was eight inches to 10 inches long.

Bradshaw told magistrates: “I was drunk. Circumstances blew up.”

Sounds like an average day up my way when there is a bank holiday or rugby international on :laughing6:
