Anyone who's stupid enough to fall for that deserves to be scammed.

There is a lot of mail going around like this at the moment and if you click log into your account, take a look at the address bar as it goes through. You get redirected to a clone of the paypal page. If anyone gets mail from what they think is not paypal, forward the email to paypal. Not only stuff like the above but more professionally looking emails purporting to be from paypal.

You know that it is the real paypal when there is a https at the start of the address and a lock symbol.

It's called "phishing". It's been happening for years.

I had £450 taken out of my paypal just before christmas. I've never had any emails of this type though so don't understand how the details were stolen. Got the money refunded after but no explanation at all from paypal. Paypal claim to be safe as houses, which is bollox.

I can see how some people may be fooled but you would need to be a little daft

Banks only usually send out emails saying your statement is available or if there is a problem with a direct debit, if you are unsure get on the blower to the bank, Any email you get that requests a password then please bin it.
