A forum for all things Cardiff City

A lot have been ribbing the Swansea method in waiting for some sort of establishment before submitting plans for expansion.
Now survival is far from guaranteed do you still think it's wise to owe vinny another 10 million for seats you will almost certainly not sell? If your atmosphere is bad now, imagine what it will be like if relegated with 15,000 empty seats!
I'd be exploring vinny to reconsider I I were a board member... although it would probably see to my sacking
Do you have anyone speaking up for you at board level or is it all yes men?

I can't see what we have to lose if Vinny spends on an expansion. When Vinny goes we will have a bigger stadium for the future which can only be beneficial.

The expansion is going ahead as work has already started.
Besides we have already piad for it.

Interesting that you would be exploring Vinny? Indicative of your Castro Monica?

As you we'll know the atmosphere at the CCS has been pretty good this season, even the Sunderland game. The only one that was dire was the west ham one which was obvious . The liberty this season however has been like a morgue according to a few jacks I know. We could easily still stay up if we turn up for our home games, palace, hull, stoke, Norwich , Fulham villa and west brom all to come to us....twitchy bum time esp if we turn you lot over you could be bottom then you know...

West Bromwich Albion definitely not coming to us, unless I imagined Whittingham's headed goal.

Without going into the were the best team, best supported arguments again. It is far easier for us to expand in so many ways which you already know. First being the fact the jacks don't own the ground. Cardiff City football club own their own ground.
second as much as you sell out your premier games how many more do you realistically think will turn up game after game. Perhaps a couple of thousand if your lucky but 32000 or whatever the dream is. behave yourselves, never going to happen unless your prudent chairman along with the leader of the council decide that for a few games a year it might be worth it. With the continuing demise of the ospreys you might gain a few more supporters no doubt.
Our clubs are run totally different and yes we have someone who in football matters is no where up to the level of Mr Jenkins. I personally wouldn't have expanded the ground until next year but if in your blinkered view you cannot see that the potential for expansion is more needed in a city like Cardiff compared to Swansea with all due respect you must be mental. Our chairman is obviously is own man and wether a feasibility study was taken and if he listened to it is a different matter. What is evident is that if we do stay up and the managers aspirations of top ten finishes in the future get realised. Then it is fair to say that the gound is too small for a good percentage of games and expansion is needed. All hypothetical i know but with the FFP rules kicking in as well. the club's with the larger capacity stadiums with the potential of more match day revenue are on a better footing already.

Well thats what I thought too, however the threads on here recently are asking what to do to improve the atmosphere as its dire, Our atmosphere is just as bad by all accounts... although we arent expanding to 32,000. Although thats not really my point.
My point is owing £10m on something you probably dont need.

I don't think expanding will improve the atmosphere unless the new tier will re home the family section and the Grange end becomes the unofficial standing section like the canton is now. It seems as if problems with atmosphere at a lot of grounds is an issue but at the end of the day it's probably down to the individual if he wants to sing and shout not just down to how low a roof is above your head. The mancity game gets brought up as an example but there are others. Leicester when we were down to ten men and Burke limping was even better imo. I think in both these games the team showed real guts and the fans react to it. It was the same stadium then as it was against West ham. I don't think the fact that all the shenanigans going on at the club have helped over the last couple of years either. But there are games when i join in the chants then others when I've come off a night shift and don't want to talk let alone sing. I'm sure there are others like me. I admire some of the boys around me in the canton who are enthusiastically trying to generate a good atmosphere but sometimes it dies sometimes it takes off no different at ninian park.
The chairman doesn't care about the atmosphere he only cares in dollars and his ego. He is speculating to accumulate with the expansion and it is a gamble but he doesn't care and there is not a lot we can do about it but cross our fingers and hope we don't end up in a wolves situation
