Somenthing to cheer about

Sat Jan 18, 2014 6:34 pm

For our away faithful at long last. The celebration for our equaliser sounded bonkers.

Ok we lost the game but they are the most clinical team in Premiership history so no disgrace and at least our away fans had something to celebrate / get excited about as we actually had a go at City.

I take my hat off to those spending all their disposable income following City around the country and I think even the most hardent of City fans would find it difficult to argue they were not getting value for money under Malky away from home.

Lets be honest Fulham aside we have barely mustered 10 chances in the rest of the games put together and only managed to score in 4 of our 10 away games before Ole took over.

Since Ole took over thats 4 in 2 and these fans finally have something to cheer.

Personally I think its these lack of away goals and points 1st half of the season which will eventually cost us our place in the Prem but at least Ole has given us some belief we can go and attack teams and if we do go down we will go down having a go. :malky:

Yes Chris, we now need points and that's what will count come May

Noone has been excellent

Maybe a draw at United , but def no less than 3pts v Norwich, we are now bottom of the Prem

Not many sides, in the world, can say they put 5 goals past Man City over 2 legs!

We might have lost but they did us proud.

Ole has no excuses, THE SQUAD IS GOOD ENOUGH It's now his job to keep us up. personally I think he's an unsuitable choice, we are now in a dog fight with a completely inexperienced manager at this level. What was Tan thinking?

I'm sure I heard a hearty chorus of "we're the greatest team in football" from our lads (and lasses) at 3 or maybe 4 one down.

We will lose 40 million pound strikers at corners, we will fail to pick up 30 million pound wingers attacking us, we may lose the mid field but we will never surrender. We will fight them at corners, we will fight them at free kicks, we will chase the ball that rolls properly along the freshly mown lawns of Englands finest teams, but WE will not go down. The lights in football stadia throughout the land are going out as I write but this is not the end, this is the beginning, cast out the red demons of doom and pick up thy staff of Blue for it is the Blue that shall carry us forward, forward on to victory or at least a draw. Seek out thy neighbor and ask him thus, does thou worship the staff of Blue or be thy an egg chaser? Should they not kiss the staff of Blue, then fling them to floor very vigorously for they be barstewards of the jacks.

I thought it was a tremendous effort, man city are unreal going forward and will win the double in my opinion, they will be bookies favourites to beat Barcelona at the Etihad ffs
noone was just incredible, seeing him tie possibly the best centre back in the world in knots for the equaliser was a proud moment as a city fan for me.
The only negative for me was that whitts was poor again and needs a rest, eikrem to start

The squad is nowhere near good enough. Some good players, Malky should have plcked Noone early on in the season instead of Odemwinhgie. Good for Ole he substituted Whittingham, thats more balls than Malky ever showed. No not good enough as a squad yet but if Ole gets a few more additions like Eikrem might have a fighting chance of staying up

Re: Somenthing to cheer about

Sat Jan 18, 2014 11:12 pm

Got back an hour ago and what a great day. If we can build on that performance and spirit then we will stay up and kick on. We can take many positives from today and its going to be tough but I think we will be OK, especially as the bottom 10 are so compacted. :ayatollah:

Re: Somenthing to cheer about

The team can be proud of BOTH performances against Citeh and shows how we CAN fight for our Premiership lives!

I doubt any fan realistically thought at the season's start that Cardiff would have a goal aggregate of 5-6 and take 3 points from the two games against the prospective (and free-scoring) Champions, so "honours even" after today is a fair return ;)

Ole can draw from the 'positives' from the game today and hopefully we can now 'kick on' with renewed confidence, starting with Manchester's No.2 club a week Tuesday! :laughing6: :ayatollah:

We did play well today - but i preferred it when we beat Man City at the start of the season and i wasn't too happy at the west ham game either

I will have something to cheer about once OGS wins us a premier league game - which will be in two weeks at the earliest
