Why does whitts play every game ffs hes not good enough.

So we have a new manager that picks basically the same team as the old one. I am very disappointed in today's team selection, not because we are going to play hoof ball with no hope of achieving anything in Manchester, but because this was one game where OGS could have blooded in some of the fringe players and tried something different. 15 minutes gone and already 1 down.

3 consecutive managers all pick him...

His delivery has been terrible today. Seems composed in open play but its set pieces where we need to sort things out. Take off Gunnarsson and bring on Bellamy I say. Gunnarsson looks a bit lost and is just getting bullied. Good player but has not had much match time recently so a bit mad to dump him in against Man City.

OGS wants to show the players that have been regulars that they will be given a chance to prove their worth under him. It's pretty predictable if you ask me. You don't come into a new club as manager and mop two thirds of the regular starters onto the bench to prove a point. You want them to show you they want it, and then if they don't you'll be in the clear when you replace them. Eikrem will probably replace Whitts second half of today's game, and next game it will probably be Eikrem who starts.

But this way, Whittingham will have no one to project the blame on, as he got the chance and squandered it. And then, the next time he gets a look in he'll be on fire to prove his worth. Hopefully.

For Ole, this nor the next are games he has to win, his prime directive right now is to get on wavelength with the pre-existing players and make sure harmony is not affected by a too aggressive team change.
