Has struggled for Internacional, though I did watch that manic game in which he scored twice against Botafogo. Looked a handful.

Looking at his previous record, it's clear that he knows where the goal is. Even managed a call-up to the Argentina squad in 2012 and managed a goal in a win against Brazil.

That said, Franco Di Santo also managed to play alongside Messi last year.

Poyet also confirmed Sunderland talks for Scocco last week. Anything over £3m would be risky, I think.

I fully agree re price. I feel he has a good record but it'd be too much of a culture shock for him to hit the ground running when that's what we need

But how much do you have to pay to find a striker that is going to hit the ground running? 8mill, 12mill?

Seen lots of transfers this year for those prices including one of our own that have failed
