' Monaco favourites to sign Thomas Ince from Blackpool '
Big-spending Ligue 1 side Monaco look set to win the race to sign Blackpool winger Thomas Ince on a free transfer this summer
Monte Carlo or bust: Thomas Ince could move from Blackpool to Ligue 1 side Monaco in the summer

A host of Premier League clubs are facing disappointment in their efforts to sign Thomas Ince as Monaco have emerged as favourites to recruit Blackpool’s England Under-21 midfielder on a free transfer.
Ince is a free agent this summer and has been courting attention from several top-flight clubs, but a move to the Ligue 1 is a serious option for the 21-year-old. He has already rejected an £8 million move to Cardiff City, knowing he has numerous other options, especially as there will be no transfer fee should he wait until the end of the season.
Blackpool could have cashed in on Ince a year ago when they rejected a £5 million offer from his first club, Liverpool, although both clubs will now lose out financially should Ince wait for a Bosman deal.
As part of their sale to Blackpool in 2011, Liverpool negotiated a 35 per cent sell-on clause. It now looks likely there will be no fee.
When Cardiff agreed to pay £8 million it would have equated to £2.8 million for the Merseyside club. Ince rejected that move, however, and Monaco are understood to have stepped up their efforts to lure him away from English football.

He will go for the money plus he will look better in the French League as its a slower placed. He'll then get overhyped as England's answer to Eden Hazard and be brought back at which point we'll all realise he's still only an average player just like every other English player in comparison to those on the continent.
If Cornelius was at Monaco with class players around him in an overall weak league (excluding PSG, Marseille, Lyon) he'd score for fun as well.

overall weak league excluding 4 teams!
its a good standard over there, a league that is certainly improving thanks to the money.
i think he would do well over there for the reasons you mention, id didnt do Joe Cole any harm.

You're right, but this will be his dad's idea and you wuill see Ince Snr. follow him out when his is surely dismissed in the next few weeks...
Quite obvious now why the lad didn't sign for Swansea recently; Ince Snr. just didn't fance the long, cold winters in an (albeit 'Executive') mobile home down the Gower!

Seems like a bit of a billy big timer for someone who has done absolutely nothing of any note in the game. Probably best he stays clear of both of us tbh.

When does the 75% tax kick in over there? Was was supposedly going to be an exodus of players from France.

No tax in Monaco is there? Or at least very minimal.
Thats why the likes of Novak Djokovic live there. $25,000,000 prize money plus and minimum to no income tax

Why go for talks then? It wasnt a suprise she was due at that point
Hes just a bit of a billy big timer and wants to feel wanted and in demand. However I think id rather play in the Premier League than the French League, the French League made Joey Barton look like Zidane.

you could also say he turned down Swansea for blackpool then,as at this time hes still their player

I thought the French FA had advised AS Monaco that they have to set up an office outside of the tax haven so that they pay the same tax as other clubs otherwise they gain an unfair advantage in attracting talent. The French FA were gonna check them out of the league if they did not do it.
Imagine the Welsh Assembly getting full tax raising powers? It could make or break the welsh clubs. We may end up unable to attract players because our tax is higher than in England. The English FA would step in.

blackpool must be fuming, theyve lost out on 8 mill+ and have a manager that is not working in the best interests of the club hes supposed to manage

The range difference is massive. Anyone with a brain knows that Paul. Stop trying to be a smart arse and the wealth that Monaco and PSG have only makes that worse. Its not much better than the SPL in that respect although its a higher quality league overall. The range is shocking. The likes of us can beat Man City in the PL, we took points from United and we almost held Spurs to a draw.
The range is crap. Take the bottom 3 teams and add their points tallies together and they still have less points than the top 3 teams each. Lille, Monaco and PSG all have 40 points or more and those 3 total up to 37. Its a shocking league overall.

Joe Cole struggled at Liverpool and was unfit and shouldn't have been in the side but Roy Hodgson didn't have a clue and thought he was England's answer to Iniesta just because he pulls off some nice footwork and touches here and there. Clueless honestly. In Ligue 1 he looked very good which shows how crap it is overall. He'd look like Messi in the SPL. Ligue 1 is not a good league and players who come there often take time to adapt - Drogba, Hazard, and I could go on and on. When they settle in their true talents show through but very rarely does a player come from that league and find it easy to settle into the Premier League because its quite a hell of a step up. Its nowhere near the levels of the PL, Bundesliga or La Liga. I'd even put the Eredivisie above it myself as its a hotbed for talent due to Ajax's amazing academy.

It is a shit league when you look at it. Other than PSG, Lille, Marseille and now Monaco there's no strength there. Lyon have gone right off the boil in recent years. Overall it's a shit league unless you play for one of 4 clubs

Said exactly the same in another thread recently, if he does go to Monaco in the summer. Oyston & Blackpool will have been well & truly shafted by their own manager
