" None are willing to pay the money for me to leave "

' Cardiff City target staying put. '

Dioufs Agent.
"There are four clubs for whom Mame would play, but none are willing to pay the money Hannover are demanding.

Cardiff's hopes of landing Hannover striker Mame Biram Diouf during the January transfer window have been dashed by his agent.
The 26-year-old former Manchester United forward had been linked with a move to Cardiff and to team up with Ole Gunner Solskjaer during the transfer window but his agent claims he is staying where he is until the summer.

His current contract runs out at the end of the season when he will become a free agent but his representative claims he will not be moving before then, suggesting interested parties are not meeting Hannover's valuation. "Diouf is definitely staying with Hannover until the end of the season," his agent Jim Solbakken told Germany's Kicker magazine.

"There are four clubs for whom Mame would play, but none are willing to pay the money Hannover are demanding."

So Cardiff's bid for Mame Diouf seems to be official over after the striker's agent confirmed the 26-year-old will be staying with Hannover for the rest of the season.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer had hoped to land the Senegal frontman and lodged a bid worth around £3m to try and lure him from the Bundesliga club.

But despite Diouf making it clear he would not sign a new contract when his deal expires this summer and Hannover's general manager admitting they would be prepared to cash-in on the former Manchester United scholar, the German's new boss Tayfun Korkut had stressed he was keen to keep Diouf.

Having failed to land a potential replacement in Chile striker Martin Castillo, Hannover wanted to hold onto Diouf despite Cardiff's interest and a higher offer from Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Now agent Jim Solbacken - who is also Solskjaer's representative - has told Norwegian media that Diouf will stay in Germany until the summer.

I thought the reason Hannover won't release him was because their deal for another striker fell through.

Agents do talk shite as we know, but if that really is the player's attitude, then he is a mercenary... Better off without.

Where in that report do you read him as being a mercenary and having a bad attitude.
I can only see him saying he will not renew his contract at end and his agent saying he would sign for 1 of 4 other teams if HIS CLUB's valuation is met?

Mind games I reckon, Hannover holding out for more cash ( & why wouldn't they? ), I can see him leaving near to deadline?

Good, it's about time we had a manager with the bollocks to say jog on to clubs asking for stupid fees

his agent is oles agent
think we might be signing him for free in the summer
maybe that's why our offer might be lower than his club wants
bluff bluff and double bluff :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

In the bit that says he'll play for one of four clubs - I'll bet you every penny that those clubs don't include ours.

As I say, it's probably wind up talk from his agent, but if that really is the player's attitude, it tells me everything I need to know about the kind of player he'd be...

Hannover will sell him in this window. A club of their size cannot afford to throw away £3m just to keep him for another 17 games.

Unfortunately our slump towards relegation is unlikely to have increased our chances of attracting him.

Think you'll find you've read the report wrong, as the agent has said that he's saying, "There are four clubs for whom Mame would play, but none are willing to pay the money Hannover are demanding."

It doesn't say that he'll play for one of four clubs at all, but in reality, he can't play for more than one club at a time anyway! :)

So that means he is prepared to play for all the 4 clubs and that it is Hannover which is demanding the money and not Diouf!

IMO, this is the agents way of saying, either sell him now for less than you are asking, or he'll stay until the Summer and you'll get Feck all, when his contract expires! ;)
