Hills must think were morons

William Hill are giving odds of 20/1 for a Cardiff win against Man City, yet if you want to bet the more difficult Cardiff win with both teams to score you only get 16/1. They must think our supporters are morons. Incidently you can get odds of 27/1 on a Cardiff win see oddschecker Man City v Cardiff City.

That's what everyone thought last time we played them. These are the matches to bet. If you get odds of 20/1 and 27/1 then you only need to win one in every 20 or 27 to get your money back and if you win 2 your well up. We always win the occasional game against long odds and so do lots of other teams. The time not to bet is when were odds on as you need to win most of your bets and it never happens. Look at Man City at 1/8 and how often they have lost this season, lose at those odds and you need 8 wins at the same odds just to get your money back. Have a look at how often a team like Man City puts in 8 straight wins. You might be lucky and get your money back once or twice in a season, but overall you'd lose stacks. This is why bookies win because people mostly back the favourites, when the value is usually, but not always in the underdogs.

take value on an individual basis.

Man city wont be 1/8 at home to liverpool (which they won) or Man united (which they also won)

betting on Man City at home every game this season will return a profit (thus far anyway)

also we wouldnt have been 20/1 at home to man city, more like 10/1 or a bit less i imagine.

I'm all for outrageous betting. This is just throwing your money away though.

You only have to read this board for 30 minutes tops and you will realise that Hills are correct.

Never seen such a collective bunch of morons (myself excluded of course).
