such a strange strange signing

Re: BRAYFORD off to Bournemouth

Another "brown envelope " deal to me .

Re: BRAYFORD off to Bournemouth

Derby's player of the season for two years running, we buy him and he never even got a game for the development team under malky, we threw away £1.5 million on him and then a month or so later malky spends another £2 million on another right back, very hard to work this one out.

Re: BRAYFORD off to Bournemouth

Even odder than Cornelius in some respects - the fact he didn't even play in development team...

Re: BRAYFORD off to Bournemouth

Totally agree - there is definitely something strange about this signing

Re: BRAYFORD off to Bournemouth

Malky's a joke no doubt about it. If we go back down its because he wasted so much of our cash on shite players who don't contribute to us staying up.

Brayford will most likely cost us around £3-5m due to wages/pay off from contract. Its laughable.

£2m for the deal and he's probably on around £30-35k per week min.

Still not as bad as Cornelius though. We've got over £20m tied up in that player. Its a disgrace.

You're the joke. Yes it was a bad signing but don't post crap about disrespecting chinese culture and then post disrespecting one of our greatest ever managers. There is not a hope that Brayford is on 30k minimum and how do you work out that there is 20m tied up in Cornelius? You strike me as a matter of type type of guy who most of the time just ends up making himself look like an idiot.

Re: BRAYFORD off to Bournemouth

It was reported in the media that Brayford was on 18k a week.

Re: BRAYFORD off to Bournemouth

Surely Derby would take him back, the odd part of this is that he is a good player. Always rated as one of the best players in the Championship and on paper a fantastic signing.

He's not some no mark like Cornelius.

the fee was 8m..agents fee almost a mil........signing on fee 1.5 mil.......and 45k a week for 5 years { 250 weeks } is 11.25mil
thats 21.75mil..................and unless he improves A LOT..no chance of moving him on to anyone

All of this still doesn't answer why Brayford hasn't got a look in either under Malky or now under OGS.

SPOT ON.

If my memory serves me right, Brayford played in the first half of the League Cup game at West Ham. He got skinned in the first ten seconds, and they scored. Got taken off at half time.

Wonder how he feels now that Derby are doing OK?

Still reckon that Kev is our best right back.

Get rid of Scottish Kev and try and make something of Brayford while we can.

No time for sentiment with Scottish Kev.

When a manager makes a player signing, it is because he has chosen that player, he wasn't forced into it.

Within a short time (about a month), there seems to have been no place for him within the set up at Cardiff. That is Malky's choice.

So Malky chose a player based on what he believed was his abilities, then doesn't want him to be anywhere near the team.

It is very unlikely down to ability, otherwise that would be indicating that Malky did not have a clue.

Most likely down to a breakdown of communications between Malky and Brayford, similar to that with Velikonja.

OGS at this stage, where his priorities will be creative midfield and forwards, will be unlikely to have spent too much time looking at players, like Brayford who are so far out on the fringes, they are beyond Uranus :D

OGS will know exactly how good Brayford is............a good manager picks up on who can play a part very quickly in training sessions... no doubt he will ask the likes of Bellers, wats the score with him { brayford }..or if not be told by another player or coach wats gone on....

That's exactly right.

He will have asked the likes of Bellamy, other players, possibly the ex coaches about all the fringe players and the feedback would be along the lines of "haven't seen enough of him in training to recommend, but heard that Malky and Brayford probably had a big falling out".

On that basis, he (or his coaches) may have had a quick look at him, but in the short time OGS has been here, he has had so much to do in such little time, then that's why I say he probably hasn't spent too much time looking at him.

Even if he saw Brayford's potential, the fact he has played so little would mean it would likely take him 2-4 weeks to get up to PL speed. He knows what he has bought with Daehli and Eikrem, but not with Brayford.

That's why it looks like Brayford will go out on loan.

Strange one indeed, I can only imagine his attitude wasn't positive and he probably didn't like the competition for the right back position

You surely don't think that everyone was singing in support of Malky. It was only those who could not recognize that he was out control and out of his depth and damaging our club. The idiots were those who knew that criticized his selections and tactics but still sang in his support just to have a go at Tan - morons.
