TEAM NEWS

Cardiff are without injured pair Andrew Taylor and Jordon Mutch. Mutch failed a fitness test.
Fraizer Campbell is fit
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must decide whether to give first starts to new signings Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Mats Moller Daehli.

Ole has a Taylor out injured and Campbell/Kimbo having late fitness tests.

Craig Bellamy is pushing for a starting place.

Jordan Mutch will hopefully be fit to be in the match day squad

CARDIFF City left-back Andrew Taylor has had a calf operation and is ruled out for almost a month.

Taylor has had surgery on the calf problem which has troubled him at times this season and Bluebirds manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says: “He has had an operation and will be out for a month.
“It will be two or three weeks before he can start training again.”

' MANCHESTER CITY '

Manchester City's Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure and David Silva are fit to face Cardiff despite missing the midweek FA Cup victory against Blackburn.

Sergio Aguero scored on his return from a calf injury in that tie, but fellow forward Stevan Jovetic remains absent.

Manchester City are on course for an unprecedented quadruple after thrashing Blackburn Rover 5 nil in midweek.
Manchester City have averaged 4 goals a game this season and entertain struggling Cardiff City this season.

Alvaro Negredo and Edin Dzeko both scored twice at the Etihad Stadium v Blackburn, while Sergio Aguero marked his return from injury with a goal within a minute of coming on as a second-half substitute.
Manuel Pellegrini's side have now scored 99 goals in their 33 matches in all competitions this term.

Toure has around 60% chance of playing. He has a knock. They might not risk him getting further injury against us.

Wasn't criticising you fella. Just making others who may come into the thread aware of his status if they didn't know. Good thread to be honest.

The midfield looks good - I'd like to see Mutch and Eikrem in the middle with Medel behind them. And two natural wingers in Bellers and Noone.

We might as well set up to attack them - it won't do us any good to weather the storm and sit back. I'd rather lose 3-2 than 2-0...

We would get absolutely raped if we tried to attack them, it would be suicide.

I think we'll be on a hiding to nothing if we try and keep an attacking team out for too long though - this season has proved that, even with lesser teams playing us who haven't scored in hours of football. Invite them to attack you and eventually they'll score...

IF Daehli is match fit, then I would like to see him start as he would be relatively unknown by Man City and a player that they won't have that much of a dossier on, and as a youngster I would hope that OGS will have instilled a 'no fear' attitude in him.

Don't be afraid to make a mistake, if you can create more chances than mistakes.

The only problem is if he plays left midfield then it would leave two very young players down that left side.

Accommodate him elsewhere and he potentially could create chances for us to score.

Only problem is that Man City are also likely to score, having failed to score only twice this season, both away from home and the last time that happened was the 0-1 defeat to Sunderland, where Man City had 24 shots on goal, but only 4 on target.

So we need very defence minded midfield players, with a few very creative outlets for breakaways, to create space and give breathing time for what is likely to be an overworked 8-9 man defence system for large parts of the game.

We need experience ( Bellamy ), speed and creativity and no fear.

Probably have Cowie in for Eikrem for the defensive element.

Yaya and Silva are fit, while they'll make a last minute decision on Aguero.

Pellegrini's words today.

Personally, I can't see Aguero starting.

Looks like 4-5-1/4-3-3 from the line up with Whitts/Medel/Gunnarson in the middle and Mutch/Campbell/Noone ahead.

Suprised to see Whittingham still in the starting elevan. Hopefully he repays OGS with a bit more effort. Even more surprised that Odemwhinge even made it onto the bench (ahead of Cornelius). I guess OGS is thinking Campbell must work his socks off for 75 minutes and then Odemwhinge comes on for a like to like change (in the hope that he stays onside and gives it his all)
Lets hope they play out of their skins!
Come on bluebirds.
