Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: Looking to build towards a bright future at Cardiff

Chairman Mehmet Dalman
"Over the next five years, I think you will see a lot of Solskjaer and this is a great place for him to build his credibility."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the full backing of the Cardiff board, with the club planning long-term with him at the helm.

Despite being in the job for a matter of weeks - and having lost his first Premier League game in charge - the Bluebirds believe they have found the right man to take them forward.

Solskjaer agreed a one-year rolling contract upon inheriting the Bluebirds reins, but he is already being tipped to fill the role for the foreseeable future.

Chairman Mehmet Dalman claims everyone in South Wales now pulling in the same direction - following a messy end to Malky Mackay's reign - and is confident better times lie ahead.

He said "I hope to build with him a long-term future here.

"Over the next five years, I think you will see a lot of Solskjaer and this is a great place for him to build his credibility."

Meanwhile, Dalman has also revealed that Cardiff will be looking to make the most of Solskjaer's ties to Manchester United - a club he represented for 11 years during his playing days.

Loan approaches for Fabio and Wilfried Zaha have already been mooted, with the Red Devils expected to move fringe players out during the January transfer window.

Dalman added: "Why wouldn't anyone want to tap into that influence?

"Intellectual capital is rare. Technical talent is rare. These guys work at the top of their game."

I think he might...be good experience for a young up and coming manager.

Agree, if we can keep the majority of our good players and not sell the lot we should bounce straight back up with Ole.
