I want to report a crime perpretrated by a health care professional against a family member to the police, preferably talk with detectives as it's not an obvious crime and will need investigating. basicly i believe somebody entrusted with my Grandads care may have wrongly drugged him with quite serious side effects, either by mistake or purposely. What is the procedure to get this investigated? will the police turn me away until i get blood tests confirming my theory, or must the police investigate bloods themselves, do they have a toxicology 'guy' like on the telly>?

What should i do, Turn up at central or make an appointment? This incident happened 2 weeks ago, if it was a drug, would the body contain traces two weeks after?

im confused as to why you are asking a football forum.
If you have concerns, go to the police. If they wont help straight away im sure they will advise you on what to do.

To be honest i'm not 100 percent trusting of the police, which is why i am asking a board full of anonymous city fans ahead of the police. For instance somebody here could say ' Do not go without a Lawyer' Or 'Don't let them fob you off by asking you to visit the GP, they have a toxicology guy on residence' etc etc. I hope this helps your confusion.

well what ever you do i hope it gets sorted for you, but still the authorites are your best bet.
If you think there has been neglect then what about the health board? there must be an avenue for this sort of thing through them
or the GMC?

I don't know, due to the nature of possible misdemeanour time is important. Health board will probably take ages and will be investigating themselves................

As long as a crime does not involve one of the police you can trust them........and as long as they are not looking for a scapecoat....you can trust them.......so with a case like this you should be ok.You cant really do anything without them....they need to interview people and make a case to the CPS.

FFS just dial 101, or if it's an emergency dial 999!

I would normally not offer you support given you're ignorant and rude nature towards myself in other threads but seeing as this is your grandfather who's done nothing to me then I will do so.
Also, you say you want to report a crime to the police yet you don't trust them. Truly illogical. First off, drop the silly attitude if you want to get somewhere.
1) Report the person in question to their employer, the professional health body in question, and state your concerns. Ask them to look into the matter as you are concerned for the welfare of your grandfather. Go as far up as you need to do so to get your concerns put across to the appropriate staff. Tell them its not an accusation but you think either by accident, neglect or maybe purposely, you're unsure, that something could have happened. Tell them if it was an accusation you'd have already gone to the police.
2) If this is an in home carer then ask them to designate him another one as you feel the bond and trust between them and yourself is gone. They should be more than happy to do so. If you cant trust somebody to do their job properly then theres no place for them at your home.
3) If this is at a care home then threaten if nothing is done about said employee to move your grandfather to another care home. At which point get the police involved and say you're worried for the welfare of people at 'xyz' establishment due to concerns involving your grandfather.
4) The police won't run forensics or any of that unless theres a solid lead to go on. Your best course of action is to speak directly to those in the medical/health profession. If it does have to go to the police then be as helpful to them as possible and when you speak with the health professionals make notes of what was said in dialogue with them and at what times so that it can be used later in evidence if you want to make a claim of negligence or whatever if thats what you believe is the case.
5) Good luck but speak to the professionals first, the person you're worried about, the next person up from them. Maybe a bit of a warning about their conduct might wake them up and make them realise somebody's watching them.

I agree with this.
Also you might want to use a free 1 hour consultation lawyer to get their views on the matter. Cant do no harm to get the opinion of a professional on board.

Cheers for the replies.
Barnett iwasn't ignorant towards you until your constant wind ups/mickey taking about the rebrand. And you did once offer to meet for a 'straightner' purely because i disagreed with one of your wind-ups.
