Cardiff City target Fabio da Silva will be staying at Manchester United until the end of the season, according to his agent.
The Bluebirds had been linked with a loan move for the Brazilian left-back with his former United reserve-team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knowing the 23-year-old well.
Solskjaer would not comment on speculation linking him with Fabio on the weekend but it has been reported that United manager David Moyes is happy to off-load the player whose contract expires in June 2014.
But Cassiano Pereira, agent of Fabio and his identical twin Rafael, United's first-choice right-back, said: "I don't know anything about these stories.
"I think they are just journalistic speculation.
"Today, I say that will remain in Manchester until the end of the season, but in summer it is very likely that they can leave."
Fabio had an unsuccessful loan spell at QPR last season and has struggled to make an impact in his time at United.
He lasted only four minutes on his last appearance as a substitute, sent off for a reckless lunge on Swansea midfielder Jose Canas in United's shock 2-1 FA Cup third round defeat at Old Trafford 10 days ago.

I liked the word 'they'. So his agent is saying Rafael is leaving at the end of the season too. I'd take him straight away, not fully convinced on Fabio though we could get better.

Id rather someone whose played in a Champions league final, has Prem experiance and a full Brazilian International over an unexperianced 18 yr old any day of the week. Id loan Declan out for experiance. (just my personal opinion)
