Hull City & Steve Bruce

Tue Jan 14, 2014 1:39 pm

In fairness to Hull & Steve Bruce I think that they have performed at the level I thought they would having brought in some quality players with Premier League experience. (Notably Huddlestone, Livermore and Davies).

I think having that premiership experience has helped Bruce bring in those players and the important thing being that all 3 had played at that level previously.

They are now bringing in Jelavic who would have been a quality signing to bring to City and they are still chasing Shane Long. Again, both players who have played at premier league level and scored goals. They do seem to be strengthening their position and look good for staying at this level.

I just hope that Ole can get Zaha in, a quality proven goal scorer, full back and a centre back. :ayatollah:

Definitely making the right moves in the market. Would have taken any of those 3 summer signings and if they get long will be a great signing for them. Jelavic though is a bit inconsistent.

Wonder how much they have spent compared to us ?

Yeah might have been an idea if Mr Mackay had taken note instead of wasting money on one for the future and a fullback that he never played !!!!!!!!!!!!

No they are not taking the league by storm but did you expect them to be 5 points ahead at this stage and strengthening with the likes of Jelavic. Reading this forum at the start of the season and the majority had them down to struggle.

5 points actually and with their far better goal difference thats effectively 6th point.

As it stands they are top half of the table and we are in the relegation zone.

Showed how superior to Malky he is, bought players to do a job.

Not Brayford and a lump on 45 grand a week.

I think the result on Saturday re enforces how well Hull have progressed. Bruce has made shrewd Premiership signings which showed on Saturday with Huddlestone and Jelavic on the score sheet. We could have signed both along with Long but we did not seem to go for players with Premiership experience.

Davis, Huddlestone, Livermore, Long & Jelavic

compared to:

Brayford, Cornelius, Theophile-Catherine, Eikrem, Berget, Kenwyne Jones, Odenwingie

There strikers Long and Jelavic cost what £11m? and We spend that on Cornelius and Odenwingie.

That's why we are 19th
