Anything happening with Montero?

Ole supposedly looking at Malky's scouting information. I wonder if Montero is still on our radar? Would love to sign this lad. He would keep two opposition defenders busy for sure :ayatollah:

I am probably the only fan to have seen this lad live (en vivo) apart from the scouting dept.

I was fortunate to watch Ecuador vs Chile in Quito, Medel playing too!!

Jefferson Montero terrorised the Chilean back-line, tricky, maybe overplays a bit, but so did Ronaldo...but obviously that is not a direct comparison.

Scored against Chile, a kind of fox-in-the box moment with an excellent assist from Antonio Valencia, plays on the left-hand side cutting in.

Moreover, he is a huge superstar in Ecuador as he is easily the best Latino player and would raise the profile of the club in a football mad country. Before you give me grief about racism, Ecuador is miles behind us regarding equality etc, black people can't get a job in that country and turn to football as the only way out of poverty. Montero has the same staus as Valencia even though one plays in Mexico and the other at Utd.

I was genuinely excited when I thought we were going to sign Montero in the summer and was gutted when it all fell through. I hope he is still on our radar. Him and Zaha on the wings...that would give opposition defenders something to think about  :ayatollah:

It may also give our defenders something to think about - and that would not be so good.

Do either Zaha or Montero support their fullbacks? I don't remember Zaha ever doing the defensive side of his job at Palace.

From what I've seen of Montero he can keep the ball all day long. When he's in possession our left back can read the Echo
