' CITY FANS/TICKETS AWAY GAMES ' "FANS MOANING"

Mon Jan 13, 2014 3:59 pm

This is totally wrong though viewtopic.php?f=2&t=132940

I was reading on here yesterday and over the weeks about how hard some say it is to get tickets for away games and how unfair it is.

Also that some say its its unfair when it comes to say Man City/Chelsea/Swansea and Manchester United Away for tickets.

Some are saying you can never get a chance to get on the ladder.

So I looked in to this seasons away games and Cardiff City's ticket policy.

West Ham Away was open to All season ticket holders after the club had sold aprox 1,200 to last seasons travellers, we sold 2,975 a Sell out.

Hull City Away was open to All season ticket holders and we could not sell out, so we sold 1,268 out of a possible 2,200 tickets.

Fulham Away was open to All Season ticket holders, We sold 3,598, a Sell out.

Chelsea Away, City were strict on this one and you had had to have gone to 6 Aways last season when we were in the Championship. City only asked for half the away allocation tickets and we sold 1,364, Sold out of what we asked for.

Norwich City Away, was first put on sale with restrictions, could not sell them, so then were put on open Sale to All Season ticket holders, this game was partially paid for by Premier League and more fans then wanted to go(approx up to 100 asked City for more), we sold 1,491 tickets, we could of had a lot more tickets, but City turned them down as we would of had to have taken hundreds more and the demand was not there.

Aston Villa Away, was open to All Season ticket holders eventually and we sold 3,033 tickets, what we were given, Sold out.

Stoke City Away, There were restrictions at first, but then put on Sale to all season ticket holders. We Sold 2,070, We never sold out.

Crystal Palace Away, Were put on sale to all season ticket holders, we sold out 2,596.

Liverpool Away, there were restrictions on this for all 2,930 tickets, restriction 8 away last season or 4 away this season,so by now if you had gone to matches away last season or this season, then you qualified. We sold out.

Arsenal Away, There were restrictions at first (same as Liverpool away), then put on sale to All season ticket holders, we took 2,707, We had 2,900 tickets.

Newcastle Away FACUP Tickets were put on sale to all season ticket holders, we could of had 3,000 plus, we sold 395 tickets.

Manchester City Away, there were restrictions put on these, but if you had been to other away games, you were guaranteed a ticket and now on sale to Silver members and there are still tickets for sale.

Bolton Away FACUP Available to All season ticket holders.

Manchester United Away, there were restrictions on these, but if you had been to other away games this season or last you would get a ticket.

Is it fair that fans who travelled last season away in the Championship got first priority on Chelsea/Liverpool and Manchester United tickets?

Is it then fair that fans who then had gone say to West Ham/Hull City/Fulham/Villa this season away then were next to get tickets for Liverpool/Manchester United?

So if you had not been going away before this season, you could get tickets for many of this seasons away matches.

So over all Is it fair the way the club distributes the away tickets ?

You dont have to go away on a coach, you can buy the tickets for yourselves on line and travel by car/train etc

If you feel its unfair, how would you propose the Club sells them?

Please those who have been moaning and say its unfair please reply

In my opinion the fans who travel week in week out should get first bite at the cherry. I've always said and I always will, reward the regulars first, I know some don't like it but that's my opinion. I didn't think I would stand a chance this season with some of the big clubs away, but I have thanks to going to places like West Ham, Aston villa, Stoke. I was able to get a ticket for both Liverpool and Arsenal away, by attending these I have now got my 2 Manchester trips. if I hadn't have done the smaller team trips then I would have had no chance, but if they had all sold out to the ones who go and watch city away week in week out i be gutted but wouldn't complain one bit

I think everyone's view is largely governed by their own circumstances.

In general the ticket policy has been ok - it is reasonable to allow those loyal supporters who have bought most away tickets in the past to get first dibs on this season's; and then in turn reasonable to make those who have bought away tickets the first part of this season the next priority.

I managed to get a Liverpool ticket with my fan number even though the aways I did this and last didn't give me priority category 1 or 2 - I now fall in to Priority 2 category having done 4 aways with Anfield and therefore was able to get City and United tickets as a result.

that said there are now City tickets available for any ST holder, so demand isn't that big is it?

With all these things demand is bound to be affected by team performance - that said I got my Anfield ticket on the back of the Palace game, so I think I might have just countered my own argument

One thing is guaranteed - people who aren't happy will say so, most people who are happy won't.

CTID - happy or sad :ayatollah:

If there is one thing that is good about the premiership is I don't worry about going away anymore, save thousands of pounds and can sit in a pub all day and watch the game - so why worry about tickets :old:

good post..spells it all out.....................but im afraid some 1 will always complain, there are those who JUST want to go to say old traford................and genuinely believe they should be in with a shout....
i think the system is quite fair as it stands...........a loyalty point system which takes in 2 or 3 years would be better though,as people sometimes have periods where its not easy to travel........deaths,births,illness,temp unemployment etc......

If they want to go to Old Trafford that badly, they can always join the south wales man ure branch and get travel and ticket in one package!

The problem is that the fans travelling are not doing so on their own fan numbers, travel clubs etc are sorting them out.

I agree with the core group that always go away getting first bite, perfectly fair....

But the club take too long to drop the conditions. Today I can now get Manchester citeh tickets, but i have made plans for Saturday and do I definitely know i can get on the coach ??? The Arsenal drop of conditions was a good 10 days prior, enough time to make plans.

Arsenal was my 12 year old daughters second game, the other being P'boro you couldn't get much further apart in stadia, but she loved it and really wanted to go to Manchester. If they dropped conditions on friday I would have popped into the supporters club on Saturday and checked I could get a coach first....The extra three days do make a difference.

I don't have any issue with those who travel week in week out whatever the distance having first choice on tickets. What I think is wrong is that you can buy tickets for away games if you meet the criteria, but then those games don't qualify for other away games. For me its happened several times this season - Norwich not counting for Villa, Liverpool not counting for Arsenal and now City and Utd not counting for jacks. I've done 7 aways which is the criteria for that game, so why don't certain games count towards others. An away game is an away game isn't it? I would have done more if work and other circumstances hadn't meant that I had to miss the first couple of away games and with having to buy three tickets for each game it hasn't been cheap.

In fact Man City has so far cost me £269.00 for tickets and train without meals and drinks Man Utd £225.00 including an overnight stay and Arsenal £200.00 all in the same month. I know that I am far from being the only one who has paid those prices, but now I and others who have also got to 7 aways may have to miss the derby because both of the Manchester games don't count... How can that be right?

I think the system is fair at this present moment but like the previous poster has said I have purchased 8 away game this season but due to the fact 2 of the are after the cut off point I am not entitled to a Jacks ticket.

If we were to stay up I would like to think the club would implement a points system like a lot of other premier league clubs where the longer and less attractive fixtures you get say 3 points and the closer or more attractive fixtures you get one point. The more points you have the more likely you are to get tickets.

The system seems pretty fair to me as it stands. The one thing I would like to see though is less time given for stage 1 and stage 2 fans to get their tickets and then give everyone else a chance. A couple of days for each stage is plenty of time in my opinion and then the club has more time to sell off the remainder. Just my opinion

I like to travel by train, maybe drive and stay overnight sometimes, I need at least 2-3 weeks notice to sort things out, I can't just go. Having said that, like many others, I can't really afford it, so maybe a good thing that I can't get tickets ! I do fancy Bolton away, but that'll probably be my only away game this season.

I think there should be a ballot system on a percentage of tickets to give everyone a chance of seeing some of the bigger games. Me myself i ain't that bothered, overpriced tickets & the whole cost of the privilege does'nt really appeal to me.

Re: ' CITY FANS/TICKETS AWAY GAMES ' "FANS MOANING"

I think it is the fairest way of doing it - it is harder for people like myself who haven't had the opportunity to go on away trips before to be able to get away tickets.

I have only been able to go to Fulham & Crystal Palace this season - but that was with a lot of hard work, keeping on hold and keeping up to date with when the ticket restrictions were lowered.

TBH though, with the bigger teams i think an 6-8 previous away restriction is justified as our long standing supporters deserve first pick to see the creme de la creme of the premier league - they have waited long enough! and all season ticket holders have the opportunity to see these teams play at home.

I prefer the must win, lower league teams away trips anyway, better atmosphere, more at stake points wise & no Cardiff born Man Utd supporters secretly supporting the opposition!! (I know this was the case with some people traveling away to liverpool)

I was looking at the train for Bolton, cheapest I could find was about £50 and it's quite far from the stadium. Not many people running buses either

How are the ticket sales for Bolton coming anyway?

As far as I'm aware, case of certain games not qualifying you for the next away is due to timing of the fixtures and to prevent people buying a ticket for Man Utd to be able to get a ticket for the Jacks but then cancelling the Man utd ticket. Thus fiddling the allocation policy.

TRY HORWICH PARKWAY railway station - about 400 metres from ground.

As frustrating as this is to those of us who wouldn't cancel the credit card transaction, this rule does unfortunately make sense.

Annis i am season ticket holder up on level 4, last season i did 14 aways without cup games, this season due to work and a baby on the way i have only done 3, so i asked about swansea tickets and was told you need to have done 4 away games this year, i dont think its fair that some parts of ground are 8 games last year but they have decided up there that it wont count.

Think you'll find that your 14 away games from last season qualifies you for a Swansea ticket! :ayatollah:
