" CITY TO ANNOUNCE NEW SIGNINGS ? "

Sun Jan 12, 2014 6:10 pm

Just been told that City are lining up two players to sign on loan this week.

One of the loan signings they are hopeful they can conclude the deal tonight and announce tomorrow, which is something Ole spoke about in his press conference yesterday after the game, the player is in Cardiff tonight.

The other loan signing they expect will be in by Wednesday.

As some of you may be aware a bid of just under £3m for Mame Biram Diouf has been accepted by Hannover for the striker and it is down to the player accepting the move and negotiating personal terms. I have been told that Diouf may not be willing to move until the summer so City may have some work on their hands to convince him to come to the club this month.

Both from separate clubs I assume as you can't loan two players from the same club? I feel it'll be Zaha off United and maybe Aspas or that off Liverpool, Guidetti off Man City? just a signing off a big team.

Surely if Diouf wants to stay until the Summer, then he's hedging his bets and waiting to see if we get relegated, before he commits?

On the plus side, if we stay up and he doesn't come until the Summer, the transfer will be a free one!

They could loan four players from the same football league club, but only one from a premiership club

Not true. QPR have Tom Carroll and Ekotto or however you spell it on loan from Spurs.

Prem clubs can only loan one player to another prem club. Hence my comment football league rules are different. QPR are in the football league not the prem.

I assume we are only concerning ourselves with Premier Club to Premier Club loans and in this scenario it is only one loanee from each PL club. So no Zaha and Fabio.

Hell a job convincing players to sign permanently given we are odds on for relegation. Also, we don't need a GK so would be very underwhelmed if nyland was one of the signings

I think you can loan 2 from same club as long as one is a loan with buy option :D so we say were gonna buy Fabio then say f**k it when the season ends ;)

The Premier League rules

The Premier League rules relating to temporary loan transfers are contained in Section 5, Rule V5 to V10 of the Premier League Handbook. They restrict the number of loan players a Premier League team can have in one season to four and no more than one player can be loaned from a particular club. No more than two players can be registered at one time by a club (unless that player becomes permanent or is an emergency goalkeeper).

If you mean me, think you read my message wrongly, what I was trying to point out was that we could get up to four loans from a football league club, but only one from a premier league club as stated by craig

No point crying over spilt milk but City needed to spend money on PL standard players in July/August not when they are all but bottom with 22 points at least desperately needed with only 17 games (inc Man U, Man C, L'pool, N'ctle, Soton & Chelsea to come).

All this eulogising over Mackay; let's be blunt enough people said his pre season signings were totally inadequate, especially up front. Cornelius is just embarrassing. OGS has so little time to turn it round; it's February or bust for City. If they cannot beat West Ham then what chance 3 home wins on the spin?

Fed up of the whole thing, 43 years supporting them or not :old: . The thought of watching them play Orient next season is depressing. (but I will :ayatollah: )
