No one wants to be told they should sing, but the players need our support now more than ever. IMHO I;'m happy just to sing, make some noise. Not fussy, what I sing (within reason) who I sing with -just get it out. In Block 115 yesterday when the Hammers were singing during the break in play a handful of us stood up and sung back, and the guys in 116/117 all standing all game just looked over and did nothing . I couldn't keep it up for too long as i've got a chest infection and feel like sh1t

. I don't care if there were only a handful of us- I'll sing on my own if necessary, but I wonder if half of these people looking over with their arms folded are the ones moaning about the lack of atmosphere ?
When we were on top and pressing for the equaliser then the atmosphere was great, but it seems when the side aren't performing the atmosphere goes flat and what is needed then is the noise to get the tempo lifted - you ask any player, they DO get influenced by the atmosphere around them. A lot.
Yeah I know many people will say it's up to them to inspire us, but at the moment that's not likely to happen. Isn't that what is wrong with modern fans ? We used to sing when we were really, really sh1t. It's nothing to do with the rebrand as it has been like it for years. Imporved at the start of the season against the big boys, but is slipping back to being not much better than the rest of the Prem sides.
Palace for all their poncy ultra crap have been getting behind their side this year when they HAVEN'T been doing well and as a result they have more points than their squad justifies.
By the way for any West ham fan singing 'your support...' - 3500 of us were at Upton park in august and although we weren't very good yesterday your support there - 30000+ at an old traditional ground, first game of the season, winning 2-0, no excuses - was absolutely crap. God knows what you will be like in your new ground - worse than Arsenal !
