That's one word for it, his bosses need to have a look at his performance today, it's not his 1st bad one this season

Re: LEE MASON

Need more refs like Mark Halsey, don't make the game about themselves, lenient and not afraid to make a decision. Lee Mason's a f*cking oxygen thief

Still the only side not 2 have a pen this season

He was shocking. Hearing something the other day like it's world cup year so the refs don't want to give a lot of pen and straight red cards.

Re: LEE MASON

We say and see the same thing every week with these so called class refs. They give us absolutely nothing but always seem to look after the away team. Caulker almost had the shirt taken off his back today. Is almost like a Wales v England thing. Don't think I've seen a decent ref at home this season. Cardiff players are too honest, perhaps we need to go down easier and dive maybe the refs will give them then.

That explains why Caulker was a bit slow then, having to carry a shitter round must be a strain as well as an inconvenience.
Ah you edited it. :ayatollah:

I tend to stay away from criticism of referee but lately it is just spoiling the games for us.

Re: LEE MASON

That picture says it all! Ref had a mare and he seemed to enjoy it! West ham took the piss in every department!

Re: LEE MASON

The worst refereeing performance of the season by a mile. He should not be taking care of premier league games. Likewise the linesman who saw Caulker being wrestled WWF style and having his shirt pulled off him. Blatant penalty but both turned a blind eye.

Yup every week I know regardless who the ref is I know we wont get a decision for us. But to be honest its a poor excuse we couldnt score against a 10 men side who had a make shift defence

I honestly think he's not fit! He rarely ventured from the centre circle. During WHAM subs, u usually get the player strolling off.Wasting time up to the point where the ref chases over and warns him to hurry up! That didn't happen today, players were taking over a min to stroll off, even the WHAM players were surprised Mason (the cheating squint, bald c**t) weren't taking action! :ayatollah:

That was shocking and I thought he must have told our players its ok ill add time. Couldnt believe he only added 4 mins.

Cheating c**t.

Don't forget when the ball hit him. It wasn't a subtle change of direction, it was massive, the ball went the opposite way when we were on the break. Should have been a drop ball, yet they went and scored from it. Disgraceful officiating

Correct! Not 1 of our players challenged the squint prick to hurry them off the field!
I think that's half our problem...We haven't got a midfield general, some1 who sticks his foot in (a nasty fucker), in our side.
Bellamy did it today but, he tried too hard, he weren't fit and he run up his own arse a bit but, he ad a go.

Re: LEE MASON

If he had given a pen, it probably would have been missed anyway, it was just one of those days where nothing went for us.

Re: LEE MASON

As a shit ref I've often stuck up for them but I thought he had a good opening 20-30 mins then got gradually worse.

The picture sums it up - it actually looks like McCartney is wearing a City shirt.

I thought there was alot of positives in our performance today, and the tactical changes - getting those decisions right and us scoring from it gives us something to build on. Not getting them deflates you when so obvious.

He was bad, very bad! But it doesn't alter the facts.....We didn't do enough to win that football game. Their back 4 were championship level! We failed to really trouble them all afternoon.
But, if we ad 1 of those lucky brakes/deflections. We'd b talking a different game.

I genuinely felt we did everything but score, everything was down the keepers throat though.

Forty years ago I qualified as a referee and was active for about five seasons so maybe I can explain a couple of general points about referee training:-
1. Referees are taught that the whole of the ball has to be over the line for it to count as a goal. This means that the whole circumference of the ball has to be over the line. Most referees will only give a goal if they are absolutely certain the ball is in the net. On US TV Kim's goal did not appear to have crossed the line.
2. Referees are taught that an infringement of the rules has to be intentional to award a foul. A kicked ball hitting an opponent on the arm or hand has to be deliberately handled for a penalty. Any doubt and most refs will not give it. The trick taught to refs is if the player moves his arm to cause the ball to be diverted then it is handball. Lee Mason obviously had doubts today.
3. If a player pulls the shirt of an opponent in the penalty area (or any other part of the field for that matter) then it is a foul. I guess that since I was a ref the powers that be have determined that having a scrum in the penalty area is all part of the game. As far as I am concerned, CCFC should have had about 15 penalties this year.

Having said all of that Lee Mason was CRAP today.

Referee training is much more intense these days. However I feel that youngef referees are expected to give more awards AND cards than the older officosls these days and therein is ine of the main reasons there is no consistency. Lee Mason started ok and went downhill fast. No complaints over Kim's effort as much as it looked over the line on first viewing. The foul against Kim on the keeper 2nd half really did sum it up.

A ref from Bolton refereeing a game where a hugely admired Ex-Bolton boss was in charge of opposing team.... Enough said

How can this not be a clear cut penalty? We should send this to the FA and ask them.

This has happened a lot this season, yet goalkeepers get a free kick if a player challenges for an aerial ball with them, its bollocks, gk's get free kicks, yet Caulker, Campbell, maybe others are man handled, rugby tackled, hauled down and get nothing, outside the box there isn't a ref who wouldn't give a free kick, but in the box they bottle it

If that was given as a penalty, there would be half a dozen penalties in every game!
Having said that, it is something that needs to be stamped out. Half the time the players are not even watching the ball!
That, diving and time-wasting are killing the game as a spectator sport

Exactly - we were clearing from the right and his header laid it straight onto the left side where we were short of numbers, allowing them a fairly easy passage through to score. He was diabolical all afternoon and no wonder Brenda said what he did about him - clueless.
