Standard Of Refereeing - Shocking

Sat Jan 11, 2014 6:21 pm

It was avery disappointing first half performance today but I thought that the referees performance was shocking.

Every 50- 50 decision seem to go West Ham's way.

How he never awarded a penalty when Caulker was being wrested WWF in the box with his shirt off his back and the endless time wasting.

By far the worst refereeing performance of the season.

He loved it too, playing a starring role like that. Not that it mattered, but four mins injury time for all those delays, yet we had five mins against Sunderland and here we're no delays. Of course they scored in the fifth minute of it.

No wonder people think there's a conspiracy!

Yeah, I make no excuses for the scoreline, but the fact we didn't get a clear penalty, and that he only have 4 minutes injury time, was a joke.

I noticed that too, he was stood outside our box way behind the defence then ran up field after the keeper kicked it to head it and was not given offside. The rules are it's where the player is when the ball is played.

No consolation for his shocking performance on Saturday but it looks as if Lee Mason has been given a weekend off this weekend along with Mike Jones who cancelled out the Newcastle Goal. There should be a large pool of refs for the Premier League and those who do not come up to scratch should be demoted. They seem to get away without punishment at the mo and they don't seem to learn from their mistakes.

some of the ref's in the prem are appalling not forgetting the blind linesman who seem afraid to give anything that is so obvious, and they ask to be called assistant referees for what who knows as that's one thing they dont do.

Can't be offside from a goal kick. Read the laws

They don't get away without punishment - it's all done very secretly behind closed doors. There's no official announcements on referees performances or why they don't get used on particular weekends. Referees are basically only accountable to themselves. Been some shocking decisions over the past two and a half seasons for us involving Lee Mason, Bobby Madley and a host of others. Surely it's time for the assessment reports and scores to be made public

Totally agree that the assessment reports should be published. The lack of accountability for refs is shocking. We have been victim of some incredibly bad decisons. Think Swansea went most of last season without a penalty as well. The decisions appear to go in favour of the big 6 or 7 teams.
