A forum for all things Cardiff City
Fri Jan 10, 2014 5:33 pm
An avid reader of this forum for a while now i appreciate the content and opinion discussed through many topics on here.
But what I don't appreciate is the sheer humility I feel when we look at our club as a segmented group of fans. A TRUE city fan should be a BLUE city fan if they felt any sense of pride and belonging to our history and identity as a club and as bluebirds we would all come together as a BLUE entity and progress forward as one.
However I do support the viewpoint that without tans millions in endorsements we would not be in the situation we currently find ourselves. He has undoubtedly provided us with a degree of financial stability and investment we have never seen as a club. However this has come at a considered cost; the switch to red has meant a divide amongst fans. This is a bitter pill to swallow, a pill that leaves a lingering taste of dissapointment and dis-regard to much of our history, but one which is willingly swallowed by some delusional fans in an anticipation of instant success. Never forget that it is what's achieved on the pitch that attributes success and not a shirt colour or millions of pounds, So we must also pay homage to Malky and what he achieved with us in his short time here. His astute managerial proesque combined with a steely mental attitude transpired into some of the most doggish performances I have ever witnessed as 23 year old city fan. The transition from Jones was undeniable and no one can ever take away what malky achieved however many people critiscise his tactics or transfers, even Ole has recognized this, but I feel his deteriorating relationship with mr tan forced his hand quicker than he would've liked and there was only ever one outcome.
We now embark on the reign of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. A master stroke by tan, Ole will be known worldwide for his association with united and that legendary stoppage time winner he scored at a packed Nou camp to help united lift the champions league. A player who has won numerous domestic and European titles under a formidable manager and players alike. He must of learnt so much from big personalities like Keane, Cantona, Sheringham, Beckham, Giggs, Scholes to name but a few, he has also witnessed Ronaldo's and Rooneys era at the club whilst coaching the reserves and in Sir Alex has the perfect role model on how to manage these players effectively. He no doubt has his own way of managing and his recent conferences and the footage that I've witnessed he seems a person who is destined for more success. I approach the Ole era full of optimism. Malky has installed a steely togetherness and work ethic within the squad and Ole can now add that attacking touch. His recent signing of Eikrem is just what is needed within the team and hopefully he can push on to achieve great things with this club alongside Ole.
My hope for the future is that Mr tan will see sense and rightfully return our home colours, we need a compromise and I'd happily endorse a red away kit that he can go and market in Asia but we are the 'bluebirds' without that blue home shirt we have no sense of belonging to eachother as a club. Hopefully Solksjaer understands this and he may be the key to unlocking tans relentless pursuit of a red dragon crested club to market within his beloved Asia. However this Is an idealogy of mine and I have no doubts that this will not materliase and I will have to keep taking the 'pill' every season that tans is in charge but stranger things have happened in football I guess we can all dream!

I WEAR BLUE..LOVE BLUE..AND WILL ALWAYS WEAR BLUE...........but i know some fans of many many years that love this club and wear red simply because its red we play in............these people supported the club in the dark days, and would again...i hope we return to blue to, but these people should not be treated as outcasts
Fri Jan 10, 2014 5:55 pm
I can fully understand this and will not ridicule anyone who wears red, but i just feel the importance of being in unity as a club, we have numerous different stances on the situation and hence that's my problem with it, if we all wear red It will be of benefit, but as the bluebirds it is surely essential this has to be in blue!

Wasting your time on here fella ... Mainly sell outs and reds
Just started going on the glory train.
Fri Jan 10, 2014 6:14 pm
Yea but red doesn't signify a person as a 'sell out' if they want to embrace it that's up to them! All I'm saying is as a club we should embrace a single direction we are just to divided at the moment as a fan base, it's contributing to negative atmosphere in and around the club. Hopefully the appointment of Ole can start the focus on footballing matters for the time being!

what divided like you
what other names do you go by on here
Fri Jan 10, 2014 6:48 pm
Do you know what "humility" means?
Fri Jan 10, 2014 6:48 pm
As club we are divided which means everyone who has any form of opinion is in disregard with somebody else
it's honestly my first post on here and I just felt the need to express my opinion like many others, I'm not a troll of any sort and hopefully my credible posts will allow you to have that impression of me
Fri Jan 10, 2014 6:53 pm
Humility can defined as many things it's synonyms are described as lack of confidence and vanity, and it perfectly sums up my emotions towards the club
Fri Jan 10, 2014 6:55 pm
Every game I've attended home and especially away, I've never felt any division between fans.
The only division I see is from the grown men acting like gossiping school girls on this message board.

That's interesting.

It's a word that descirbes a humbleness towards the affection I feel towards the bluebird, but a humility that I am now at a club where traditions have been scrapped and we now play in red

I don't wear any colours supporter for 42 yrs.! Guess I am an in betweeny?

It's all good stuff you are saying and agree with most of it.
Trouble is, it's been done to death on here over and over again.

Daya, I wouldn't expected you to come to this realisation. But you're absolutely right, Cardiff City is on the Glory train!
Great post, btw, OP. But it's a shame that wankers have to put down decent people just because they're just not all that invested in the colours, they just want Cardiff City to succeed. There's different kinds of fans. Some get a red shirt for christmas, and really like or even love Cardiff, and want to be a part of the cool stuff that is happening as of recently. I've been lurking myself, and don't own a shirt. But Cardiff is still my number 1 team over here, but of respect to the people invested in the bluebird I would never go red dragon. But what I'm saying, is that it's a shame decent people are kicked in the nuts for not sharing the blue standpoint, when they're decent people that own only one shirt and follow only one team.
It's nice to take a standpoint, but don't go kicking decent peaople in the balls, for God's sake.

Karl I understand that as a stadium we are united to watch our 'heroes' as Solksjaer put it, but the division is felt when anti tan songs and banners are displayed and some people may not agree with this stance and choose not to participate. We as fans need to be singing from the same hymn sheet so to speak and in that way the atmosphere in and around the stadium will be enhanced so much in my opinion.

You've got nothing to sell.

Note I did discuss other topics other than colour and my optimism with regards to Solksjaer who I believe is a great asset for us to push on and establish ourselves as a quality premier league outfit!

i think you will find that as teams struggle attendances go down..and as teams have better time attendances go up......must be a difficult time for welshmen with fake cockney accents who thought we would never amount to anything...

there are not two sides..........we all want blue.....we all want Cardiff to do well.........
tan seems to be the issue............he owns the club, and the trust or local business men are not in a position to buy him out even should he want out.................those that shout tan out, seem to be looking for ..the enemy..the other side.....there isnt one, those that are not shouting it, just dont see logic in it.......its not they would not prefer a different owner.
