Veteran Bellamy will be in the squad to face West Ham after being unavailable for selection for the past two months
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer shares a joke with Craig Bellamy
Craig Bellamy will return to the Cardiff City squad for the first time in more than two months tomorrow as the Bluebirds face a crunch clash with relegation rivals West Ham.
New Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer today revealed Bellamy has trained all week and is fit and ready to take on the Hammers despite not featuring during the final months of Malky Mackay's reign due to reported knee injury troubles.
Bellamy last played in the 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa on November 9 and is yet to score in his 14 appearances this season.
The Cardiff-born star could well be thrust straight into the starting XI at Cardiff City Stadium, with Solskjaer beaming about the veteran Welshman's performances in training.
"Craig has been training for a week and is looking really sharp to be fair. He's in the squad, back and available," he said.
"We've spoken together. My thoughts are he should play as long as he can.
"Craig wants to get performing get back out on pitch. Hopefully I can motivate him and inspire him to prolong his career."
In other news:
New signing Magnus Wolff Eikrem will not start, although there is an outside chance he could be included in the squad after just three training sessions with his new team-mates.
Asked if Eikrem will start, Solskjaer said: "We will see. He has had a winter break so he has fresh legs. But he is not likely to start, though, as he has only had three sessions with the lads. I will make my mind up.
"This boy was very close to playing for Man United.
"I have admired him since he was young, I first saw him at 12.
"He is hungry and likes to get on the ball. His range of passing is a strength, he has passion and I always believed he would become a Premier League midfielder," he added.
