Tim Hartley: - Rather dead then red!

Thu Jan 09, 2014 8:39 pm

Hi again!

Here's another article from another newspaper in Norway. Dagbladet interviewed Tim Hartley today. Again: sorry about my language skills - I'll promise I'll shut up for tonight ;)

Fan-leader Tim Hartley has followed Cardiff City for years. Now he hopes for attacking fotball under the new manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

But there is one thing that's bothering Hartley; the color of the jerseys.

- It's a disgrace! Vincent Tan came here and changed the colour from blue to red. We have been blue for a hundred years, he says to Dagbladet.

Never red
Cardiff City changed the colour of the kit before this season and at the same time the bird in the club logo, The Bluebird, was replaced by a red dragon.

In all his years as a Cardiff-fan and leader of he Cardiff City Supporters Trust, the colour-change is by far the biggest bummer he has experienced.

- I'll never wear a red jersey. It won't happen, and pulls out an old qoute: rather dead than red!

Fight for the colour
What does it take for you to put on a red jersey, Dagbladet asks.
- Someone would have to give me a enormous amount of money that I could donate to charity, he says with a smile.

- We are still in a process where we are trying to talk sense into the leaders of the club. Come back next year, and maybe you'll se us play in blue.

- The fans are divided, but almost everyone wants the blue kits bak. Just look at the stands on our home matches. Hardly anyone shows up in red.
