If he does well:
1) He'll get most of the praise if he does well
2) He can move on to another job after proving himself in the PL
3) He's proved he can work under what the media and many outside fans believe is an interfering and controlling owner
If he does badly:
1) Tan will be blamed based on previous events and media reports (claims of interfering, controlling, etc. will emerge)
2) Due to this he'll still be given a chance elsewhere at what is regarded a stable club to outsiders
3) He's proved he'll struggle under what the media and many outsiders believe is an interfering and controlling owner but many will still have faith in him to do the job at a club where the owner does not interfere
Ole is in a win-win situation here at Cardiff City which is why I believe he took the job whereas in the past he has turned down offers from the Premier League. Its less of a gamble because theres a way out if it goes wrong where he can still save some face in the managerial world.
This is the ideal job for a new manager because of the perceptions of Tan in the media and to many other fans. Solskjaer failing here won't look bad on Solskjaer, it will look bad on Tan as blame will get attributed to him.
