Cardiff owner Tan considers legal action against sacked boss Mackay

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan is considering legal action against sacked manager Malky Mackay.
It all comes because of the signing of striker Andreas Cornelius in a club record £7.6 million deal from Copenhagen.
Tan is furious that their bid to land the 20-year-old could cost the club over £20 million with adds on including a £1.5 million signing on fee and a five-year contract worth £11.7 million.
Cornelius has yet to score in seven outings for Cardiff in the Premier League.
The striker has yet to start a match for the Welsh side, leading to him being labelled as a flop by many fans and the media.
The Mirror claims Tan remains unhappy with Mackay, who has yet to receive his compensation package from the controversial Malaysian owner.
Since then, Cardiff have installed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager.
"Mackay was instructed to go out and buy a Bentley," a source close to Tan apparently told the Mirror.
"He got the funds to get some top quality international players, but Mr Tan feels Mackay bought a Toyota instead."
Tan is also said to be unhappy with the £10 million fee paid to Sevilla for Gary Medel, a figure that could rise to £15 million based on appearances.

Lets be honest, that's silly money for Cornelius.

Although Cornelius has hardly had any game time I wouldn't want my £20m invested in him...Tan has every right to be pissed off. Incredible figures

I said on Twitter, agendas aside Tan trusted and let Malky to be in charge of Football matters, no wondered he wanted to intervene. I wouldn't trust Malky.

Ive always thought there is more to the Malky story than meets the eye.. But I always take press stories with a pinch of salt until anything happens...

The sacking of Malky was unprofessional due to it being via email, but they hadn't spoke in months so it may have been the only way and we should have sacked him sooner but as said above there's more to this story that meets the eye. Shame tabloids continue to run stories about Tan and Malky, we have a new manager now..

Tell you what though, if I was told to buy a Bentley, I'd have bought a f*cking Bentley, not a Toyota!

And it is not even a Camry let alone Lexus.
It is just a Vios at Bentley price.

it was resign or i will sack you..............so the rumours were, with a list of reasons that Tan thought Malky should resign / or get sacked over..........the fans, media, public, shouldnt really be party to a private email..so i dont know..would love to know the truth..doubt we ever will, one way or other, this is being settled out of court.

Allright, nearly a week old, but still: Rene Skovdahl which is now in Cardiff as well, said to the danish newspaper that OGS is the perfect manager for Cornelius (recently dubbed Toyota, some even claims Vios). He predicts Solskjaer will have a positive influence on Andreas Cornelius' career.

"René Skovdahl was with during the last two years in Norway, so he knows all about how Solskjær ideally want his team to play"

- He wants to play forward attack-oriented football. He would like to play along with the earth. But he would of course also like to be unpredictable, so he will also play the edges and exploit the core competencies that Cornelius has.

"The Norwegian was even attacking, and he likes to develop young players. Therefore, he may very well be the man who can help Cornelius to take the next leap forward in the development, expect Skovdahl."

- As a former striker, he has extra expertise right on the field. Positioning, timing, end surface, touch and ability to read defenseman that he will be able to help Cornelius extremely much, and he will certainly be able to develop Cornelius. In Molde we had mostly young players he would like to have hungry players, and I've heard of Cornelius, it is that he is a hungry player who wants to improve his skills. It will fit very well in the way that Ole Gunnar like to work on.

Are we really that naive that Malky would keep quiet after all that happened if VT does not have anything substantial against him? Or are we silly enough to think VT would send a public email to dismiss someone? It is very obvious that someone privy to it leak it out on purpose for reasons unknown. Best is let the court decide.

as usual.. tan says nothing or very little, but the world makes it up anyway..

It's all complete made up tabloid bullshit. Managers make bad signings all the time (I'm still not saying Cornelius is a bad signing until I've seen more of him). The clubs owner does not take the manager to court, if that was the case AVB would be fucked. What about Andy Carroll for £35m or Torres for £50m. Ferguson bought Berbatov for £32m but never really got that value out of him.
