Cardiff City Football Club are pleased to announce the arrival of Norwegian International Magnus Wolff Eikrem from Dutch club Heerenveen.

The midfielder has today joined the Bluebirds for an undisclosed fee ahead of the Barclays Premier League match against West Ham at Cardiff City Stadium this Saturday. He will take squad number 15.

Speaking of his new signing, Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær said: “I’ve known Magnus for many years, having worked with him at Manchester United and then signing him for Molde. While I was there I had to sell him as he was our best player - and now I feel lucky to get to sign him again for Cardiff City for a reasonable price. I see this as money well spent.

“He’s a playmaker, a quarterback if you will, someone who likes to get on the ball and can see a pass. He’s technically very good, including set pieces and has great vision. Magnus will add a lot to Cardiff City and will blend in very well with the midfielders in the squad.”

After watching the Bluebirds in action at Newcastle United on Saturday, Norwegian international Magnus Wolff Eikrem has now completed his move to South Wales

Cardiff City have completed the transfer of Norway midfielder Magnus Wolff Eikrem from Dutch outfit Heerenveen.

The 23-year-old has trained with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad this week while he waited for international clearance to be completed.

Its a forum saying from ages ago when everyone used to say 'another player ruined by Jones' in regards to Matthews and so on.

Whitts was banging in the goals under Jones to be fair.

As much as i like whitts and think the criticism on these boards for someone who has given so much to this club, I think Whitts self belief has been the thing that has prevented him taking his career to the next level.

I hope he will now get his head down and fight to keep his place. Maybe it's the competition he needs.

Pretty good stats for someone who has supposedly been shit all season.. Been involved in 6 goals for us all together, whether its from corners or not you still need the quality. The position stats are pretty interesting.. His best position has always been the middle of the pitch.. Malky used him wide left far too often.

Sorry that's just not true. His best season for us, when he got 25 goals and umpteen assists, he played in an advanced position wide on the left. Malky rarely played him on the left having decided to convert him to a deep lying central midfielder as soon as he arrived.

Too true. Malky's failure to sign a wide played has cost us dearly. Whitts has suffered as a result, but still has a lot to contribute if used correctly. I trust Ole to do so.
